Well, I guess I can't avoid this thread...

I wore a short ivory and gold dress to a wedding last summer and got ripped a new one for it. Honestly, I was not trying to upstage the bride, I wasn't looking for the attention... I thought it was a cute greecian looking dress, but clearly I was wrong for wearing it.

I just feel bad, three other people borrowed that dress after i wore it for other weddings.

we actually had like 4 or 5 people wearing white to our wedding...

i didn't even notice until someone pointed it out to me when we were looking through my proofs!

This is funny actually but my friends MOTHER IN LAW wore white to her wedding!

Obviously they dont have a good relationship and when FH said something to her about it she started getting really loud and yelling, 'It's not white - it is ivory!' and making a scene. It was totally one for the books...

That is so wrong!

My friend is very laid back so it kind of just rolled off her shoulders and when we watch the video we all crack up. Her MIL made herself look totally ridiculous.

Personally I wouldn't wear white, just because of that unspoken rule and to allow the bride to be the only one wearing that color, since it's HER day.

I would never wear white to a wedding!!! I actually have an ivory dress that i absolutely love and I will not even wear that to a wedding!

Unless there was a specific request from the Bride, there is no circumstance where I would choose to wear white to a wedding.

I agree..it was so pretty!! I wouldnt mind if someone showed up to my wedding in that dress. I dont care what they wear, as long as its not jeans, khakis and button downs or something casual

I cant wear white anyway, makes me look really fat

i did once when i was like 20 but had no idea you weren't supposed to, i probably got talked about all night! i posted recently about possibly getting away with wearing a black and white polka dot dress and just decided against it meanwhile the person sitting across from me at the wedding was wearing an ivory floor length sparkly gown!!
