Re: Greek Brides??
Angela: Peter says he doesn't like to wear it sometimes b/c all the non Greeks constantly ask him why he's wearing a wedding band if he's not married. He gets annoyed
I told them all you have to say is 'It's GO tradition.' It's 4 words, how difficult is that

Re: Greek Brides??
Ok this thread basically started with this question but the time has come again to ask it lolFMIL is off to Greece again - what should I tell her to bring back. I told her to check out cake cutting sets, but what else. Stefanothiki, stefana and all koubaro stuff will be bought here.
Any ideas?

Re: Greek Brides??
Jewelry maybe? If you plan on giving the koumbaro a bracelet or jewelry as a gift - just a thought...

Re: Greek Brides??
We wear our rings on the right hand side. I used to wear my engagement on the left and then switched it over to the other hand once I got married. My husband did not wear his ring until after we got married.

Re: Greek Brides??
Eleni's does have beautiful favors and I love the way they wrap them! They are definitely unique - The only thing is that they are pricey - I went looking with FH when he was koumbaro for his friend - he ended up getting them from Markella's on Ditmars. The only thing I didnt like about the way she presented her items was she put down anything that wasnt expensive- she pointed out the nice unique ones and then pointed to 'the typical ones that everyone is getting'....I didnt like the lambades that she had - Just my taste though - I am probably using kentrikon noufaro for lambades bec I love the satin roses that she makes by hand! I am probably going to buy my future godson his baptism clothes from Eleni's...they are all too cute!

Re: Greek Brides??
Where is Eleni's located? My husband's cousin and his wife asked us to baptize their daughter and I would like to go and look for lampathes & favors. This is my first time, so I am a bit clueless. Can you buy the outfit & shoes from the same place?

Eleni's is right off Steinway on Ditmars. They have shoes and clothes there - I don't know about all of them.
