FH and I are going to check out an apt tomorrow morning and if its nice and we love it, we may take it! :)
Also planning on getting marriage license done tomorrow..im feeling very relieved.
How was apartment hunting? Where are you guys looking?
FH & I saw soo many crappy apartments asking for a fortune!, before we found one that's decent and affordable.
Awww, getting your marriage license feels soo good...just makes it feel soo real...because even if you have everything else arranged, you can't get married without the license.....so if you can, celebrate that with your FH.
FH & I went to dinner...just spent some quiet time with each other after we got our license.
Apartment hunting has been crazyy! we are lookin in the park slope area of Brooklyn, and most of the apts are small!!! and expensive! we saw a few that were pretty good, but the subway line was no good :( so we are still looking.. the one we looked at today was big, but made you feel a lil claustrophobic! lol ughh..i hope we find something nice when we start looking. We need it for july since we will start working at our new jobs in July, so its a lil early to look now, but just wanted to get an idea...
yeah i cant believe we got our marriage license!!!! it really does make it feel sooo official! FH and I ordered in and watched The Kiterunner..OMG such an amaaazziing movie, just like the book!!

Hey Girls -Soni - we're using DJ Akash, he's charging us 1500 for the ceremony in the morning (about 4 hours) and the reception (5 hours). He might fall within your budget if your hours are shorter and since yours is on a Friday.
Deepa - your makeup looks great!
Are any of you having special lighting done in your reception hall? I really like par cans but I'm not sure if they will make a big difference or not and if they are worth the money.
Do any of you know of anyone who does Mehendi for not too much? We're looking for someone to come to the Mehendi but everyone has been so expensive!
Oh, we got our engagement pictures done this weekend with our photographer! They came out so nice...I'm so excited!

Believe it or not, we both have the same last name (and we're definitely not related! It just happens to be a common indian, Christian last name, hehe)

i have a middle name and i like it a lot and don't want to drop it.. but i loveeeeeeee my last name a lot more and FH is WHAT?!?! you are actually thinking about this..?!?!! i thought taking your husband's last name was a no brainer.. anyway.. for the time being, i'm keeping mine.. i plan on going back to school AGAIN so i'm buying myself some time.. and besides my last name is just 4 letters and his is 9!!..

Shobha for Mehendi!!
It's sooooo not worth the money.. yeah it looks good but after a couple of drinks, people wouldn't even know the difference.. JMO.. it's great in the beginning.. but then it also depends on the time of mode you want to set.. if not done well, it will end up looking like a 90's night club..
