Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Post a picture of your engagement invitation if you can. Don't worry if it's a bit fancy, because you are getting married in India....so the engagement here is a really big deal.I have a cake cutter and toasting flutes on my registry....if we don't get it for the bridal shower, then we probably will buy it.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I was thinking about the engraving since I have the rings, but I would rather engrave as a surprise one year for an anniversary.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
you can engrave it w/ your wedding date and your name or combine your names or something..but i like nancy's idea of it as a one year gift!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
My FH is spoiled, I got his wedding band already and he saw it cause i wanted something he would love to wear. Then, I got him another ring to match his favorite watch. I told him consider it a early v-day gift. Now, is it bad if he wears that ring instead of his wedding band certain days? Or Should i just have him wear that ring on his right hand?I am sorry my man is actually metrosexual. Sometimes its annoying...

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Metrosexual is ok, that just means he's hot, lol. But, I think he should wear only his wedding band on his wedding finger and use the other ring for what people call, 'right hand ring'. They have that term for women, why not men. But wow, you really do spoil him

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
well, we spoil each other. He never got an engagement ring and get this he has been bugging me for it forever. what guy does this!?!Well, i found the ring and then showed it to him and he loved it. I just saw how excited he was and just got it. but, i told him its his valentine's day gift. He better not expect anything else...
Yea, nancy i agree he should just wear this ring on his right hand. If he was to wear it on the left then it would take away from being the wedding band.
So how are your planning coming along? Are you excited? What do you have left to do? Gosh the weather is beautiful today i wish we get beautiful weather on our wedding day!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
you ladies are soo funny!!i don't think there's any problem switching the rings around.. also depends on what your FH does, if he is in a profession where he has to wash his hands or use his hands, you may not want him to wear such an expensive ring..

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hey, I guess if he wants to switch them around after the wedding, that's upto him. We girls have 2 rings, e-ring and then wedding band and if we can change it up, then I guess it's only fair if they do the same...... lol.Anyway, yeah, I'm pretty much done. Bothering the parents on both sides for their final numbers so we can start making the seating and stuff and I'm starting to pay off final balances. Things get sooo stressful, but you know what, I'm just letting things go naturally. If I get too worked up now, what's gonna happen to be like the week before the wedding, I'll go nuts. So I decided on a 'nosebleed table'. Basically, I created an extra table in the back of the room for people who just show up without telling us they were coming. I think that's fair right?? If you didn't RSVP, you get to sit in the corner, hahahahaha, my parents were making fun of me, but I like the idea.
Oh yeah and I'm still waiting for the favors, gonna make them in like a week and still get a cake topper, just the small stuff. Looking forward to everything and I can't wait!!!

Parekhcards were great until i got the shipping bill
Well, i ordered 225 cards and i don't remember but shipping was like 300 bucks alone. Shipping is what makes it more expensive but hey if we were to get them in ny it would be doubled so i saw it as a deal. Oh btw, when your ready to put them together get a team. It goes much faster.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Wow - that's crazy - I used 123weddingcard.com and it came out to a lot less - maybe like $70-80 delivery. Plus, when I got everything, the inserts were in each individual invite which was in the envelope already.
