What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?
Church at 3pm. Located in Queens.Cocktail hour starts at 6:30pm . Reception located in Nassau,LI.
My girlfriend keeps telling me that it is too long of a time inbetween & that people will eventually end up going home after the church.
What are you ladies times?
Thanks!!

Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?
My Ceremony is at 11:30am, cocktail hour is at 12pm, and dinner/lunch at 1pn-5pm. Everything is at the hall. But in my experiance with going to weddings, you don't want too much time in between, unless you have some sort of thing for them to do. 2 hours in between church and dinner was alittle long at my friends wedding.

That is wonderful.....
I am more worried about the 2.5 hour gap. I am trying to tell my friend, what if someone gets a flat...or you never know what can happen to delay the wedding. I want time for things to go smoothly.
My mom insist on me showing up 15 mins late...or 20 mins late...to the church... I am not going to argue with her. I just want everyone to be happy including my guest.

I totally understand. But, I added an extra 1 hour for the guest to get to the next town over where the reception will be. Or if they hit traffic...and so forth..

Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?
I have a long time in between also -Church is at 2:30 and the cocktail starts at 7PM.
I am having a mass, so I think that there will wind up being about a 3 hour wait between the two.
Alot of people from out of town are getting a hotel room, so I figure that they can just go back to their room.
Also, I figure that people that live nearby will just go home and get dressed for the reception.
I am renting a conference room at the hotel and will have drinks and some snacks for anyone that doesn't have somewhere to go.
I feel bad having so much time between, but I really didn't have a choice. The church wouldn't do a mass later than 2:30.

Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?
I don't think 3 ceremony and 6:30 cocktail hour is too much time..I went to a wedding church never starts on time, 3:15 with readings, no communion 3:45 by the time the bridal party left it was 4:30. The church was in Queens, reception Nassau/Suffolk border, we had a 1/2 hour to spare to be there at 6:30 for pictures.

Church is at: 3:00pmCocktail HR: 6:00pm
Reception: 7:00pm
It takes about an hour to get to
Flowerfield so I need enough time in between the church and the reception.

Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?
My church is at 3:30, just a ceremony, not a full mass. The CH starts at 7! I love the time in between, people can have time to go home and get ready for the reception, and we can have time to take all of our pictures too because i want to enjoy our CH, that is the best part!!!!Welcome New Vendors
