DC brides...weekend tea GTG THIS Saturday 3/22: Looks like we're cancelling
Just a random thought...I have no idea if anyone is going to even see this until Monday (or Tuesday if you're not unlucky like me and actually have Presidents' Day off) but since I am taking the day off Weight Watchers I was daydreaming of some other yummy things we could do for a GTG.Have any of you had tea at any of the hotels here in DC? If not, it's quite an experience, and it's perfect for a bunch of gals for a GTG. It's usually around $20 or so per person (maybe a little less or more) and you get tea and cookies and scones and finger sandwiches and chocolate-covered strawberries and stuff like that. I recommend the Mayflower (Connecticut Ave) and the Park Hyatt (Foggy Bottom).
I wonder if there is actually a Saturday or Sunday afternoon (it usually goes from 3-5 pm or so) when enough of us would actually be free to get together (and not up in NY)...I was thinking late March or early April, so we could do it before Joanne's wedding, but without getting TOO close to her big day. But maybe it would be a good way to help with any pre-big day jitters...? And, besides, we still need to see Ann's ring!! What do you think??

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
That sounds like a great idea to me. I vote for whichever place that will be less of a nightmare for those of use that hate driving in DC. Is it just me or are ALL of the street signs angled so that you cannot read them until it is too late

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
Well, they are both Metro-accessible, if that helps any...Another thought is that the Ritz Carltons in both Pentagon City and Tyson's do tea, I am pretty sure. They are pricier than the other places, I believe, but driving to them and parking is much easier, because you can just park at the mall....

Does Ritz Carlton Pentagon City sound like the most convenient place for everyone then? Or were there other preferences? Now the real question...WHEN?? Sadly, my weekends are booked through late March.
Would Sunday, April 6 work for anyone? PS-Enjoying the SNOW???

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
Hi Ladies! I love this idea!! I am stuck in NY (with no wedding planning possible under 2 feet of snow) and missing DC so any GTG in DC sounds terrific!unfortunately, i am not sure if I will still be in DC on April 6 (I am going to try to take that whole week off before the wedding and come back up here (NY) on that Sunday). But that shouldn't stop you guys!! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the snow! Sounds like not too many folks are working tomorrow (govt's off right?!)

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
I was afraid of that (both you getting stuck in NY and this being too close to your wedding). Maybe there is another date that would work? Matt and I are trying to figure out if we are going away the first weekend of my spring break. If not, I might be available that Sat or Sun...March 8 or 9... Let me know if there are other possibilities...we want to give you a nice sendoff!
Edited to say: Don't miss DC TOO much...we've got 2 feet of snow here too!

I just FM'd you about sushi!
Well, let's see when everyone else is free first on this. I need to talk to Matt and see if we are going to be in town or not for March 8/9...but I am thinking I might be back by 3 pm on Sunday the 9th, regardless... will let you know!

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
Talked to FH last night and I think we are going away that March 8 weekend. I MAY be back in time for something March 9, though. Or, I think I could do something the weekend of March 22/23, depending on whether or not my friend is running the Marine Corps Marathon. But I'm thinking that's early enough in the day that I could still make a 3 or 4 pm teatime...What do others' schedules look like?

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
I'm going to NY the first weekend of March I think, but other than that I'm free. Maybe we could do another after-work get together if it's better for everyone's schedule?

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
I think we were trying for a weekend this time because some of the Baltimore brides weren't able to make it on weeknights...Plus, if we want to do a tea, they only have that Sat/Sun afternoons...
But I'm up for whatever.

Re: DC brides...how bout a weekend tea for our next GTG?
Hey ladies! still stuck in NY
But, i am definitely up for tea or a weekend gtg. (I can also do a weekday one, but i like the idea of doing a weekend to be more inclusive!)I am 99% sure that i will be available March 22/23. I am in NY for fitting the weekend of March 15 though. hopefully this will work out, but please don't plan around me if April is better for everybody. hope you all are enjoying the snow! Take care,
-jo

Ooooo good, can you bring me some of that yummy food at the Bridal Suite??!!
BTW - that weekend is also my shower (although my mom will not officially tell me -- some not so smarties have just blurted out)
