Hmm well Ill have to ask Lou. He wasnt working yesterday so Rob is going to call and talk to him today. But I really think after we go to the food tasting we will book it. I have been looking online and I really cant find anywhere I really like as much.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
If your worried about the chairs and are thinking about covers, ask them for help. I know there's two places they regularly recommend. When I was looking to do table runners and these places wanted an arm and a leg, Nick actually called around for me and found a place that would do it in my price range for me within a week of my talking to him about it. One of the best parts about CLM has been the people that work there. They are incredibly helpful and pleasant!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Ok so I guess they changed the policy because rob called today and they said they DO have 2 weddings on a friday night.I dont know what to do... I really would rather not have to see another bride there but it is the best place for the money and location

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Maybe because it's the summer... I'm surprised! I think some of the other brides who got married there had either another wedding or party going on at the same time and never even saw each other... You could also always get lucky and maybe nobody else would book that night, but that would be a chance you'd have to take...Again, good luck with your decision! We'd love to add another CLM bride to the club

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Hey girls! This is my first post :) I've been looking at the CLM online and have a few questions for you :)How far in advance do you need to book a wedding? My finace and I want to get married as soon as possible and I really dont care if its a Fri, Sat or Sun. I dont care what month. Im so easy to please.
Also, will they allow a ceremony to take place there? My uncle is a minister and could just marry us in the ballroom or something.
Did any of you think the things listed on their website enough? Did you feel a need to add anything? If so what? and how much did it cost pp
I hear its between $70 - $85 per head during the cheaper months.... Do you know if theres a minimum?
I know I'll think of more questions soon :) Thanks in advance! Amy in Suffolk

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Hi Amy,I'm sure you will love CLM! We booked our wedding pretty far in advance but a friend of mine booked hers only about 9 months before, you probably just have less of a choice when it comes to day/time/room.
They are in the process of building a new chapel downstairs, although I don't think it is finished yet. I think it's supposed to be finished early in 2005.
I am paying $70 pp on a Friday night in November. Saturdays are more and I think Sunday's vary depending on time. We have a 125 person minimum in the larger room.
The only thing I would like to add is a chocolate fountain. They give you SO much there for your money I don't think there is a need to add anything!! If you go to a tasting, you will see what I mean!!
Good luck with your decision! Let us know what you decide!
Jennie

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Ok guys.. one more question!!!I am booking (hopefully) with CLM on wednesday night.
Here is my question. Since they do 2 weddings at a time, Im assuming you cant go early to take pictures right? What did you do in this situation and are there any suggestions for near by places???
Also my ceremony is in ronkonkoma at 4pm and the CH starts at 8... is that too long of a time period between?
Jen

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Well, there is only one wedding the night I am getting married and we were told we could go right over to take pictures at the hall. Nick just said not to bring everyone, just the bridal partyAs for time, it may be a little long but if you have mostly people from the area it shouldn't be a problem because they can go home. If you have OOTers, hopefully they will be staying in a hotel and can just stop there if they need to.
Good luck-- happy booking!!!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Hi Amy,I am paying $68 pp on a Sunday Afternoon in May. The other quotes I was given are as follows:
Sunday am: April - $65 May - Oct - $68
Saturday am: April - $67 May - Oct - $72
Also, you can def have the ceremony there. Fee is $400. You can have outside on the water or inside in the chapel they are building. Minimum for upstairs Reception room is 100; downstairs is $150. (This is for May afternoon; minimum changes based on time of year and day/night) Also, here are the times for a day wedding: Ceremony - 11:30; CH- 12:00 - 1:00; Reception - 1:00 - 5:00.
Also, I agree with Jenny. They give you so much, the only thing I would want to add is the chocolate fountain although I've heard that they throw that in for free sometimes. Find out about the next tasting and don't eat beforehand. You'll just die with all the food they give you. The food will seal the deal. Trust me. Let us know if you have any questions.

yes well clm is about 40 mintues from where my church is so I figured people can go home (most live further west anyway) and then go to the reception from there. I also thought it would be good for the people who will not take off of work that day and miss the church bc they will have some time beforehand. I am going to ask about the pictures wednesday night and Ill let everyone know whats up
