Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I am getting very excited. I think it'll feel very real when we go on the 5th for the menu and we're sitting in the room eating. It'll be exactly one month before!!!Well, unfortunately, it looks like the chapel will not be done for our wedding
It is very disappointing, but Nick and George have been great about everything and been very generous so far in compensation. I'm sure Nick can't wait for the wedding to be over...I call so much he says he knows it's me now without my even saying

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Luckily, being in the winter, there is no other party there that night and we can use the upstairs room as our chapel. Originally this wasn't a very good solution because of the stairs and we have some elderly people who can't do stairs, but I think we've worked it out and they've been very good about helping us get anyone upstairs that needs help.

Yes.. Lou said that by 2006 when I get married they should def have an elevator because we booked the upstairs room. I am hoping to get my guest list right around 150 so we can upgarde to the downstairs room before someone else books for my day. Right now we expect 125 but this is just a preliminary list

Yeah, we get away witha lot of things, being in the winter. We only needed a 125 guarantee for the Atrium in February. As long as theirs no blizzard, it definitely has it's advantages. If only we get a weekend like this one where it's 50 degrees!

Sorry to hear about the chapel Nicole but at least there is somewhere else beautiful to have your ceremony! How far finished are they? Didn't they say they'd throw in a vienese hour if it wasn't done? I am so excited our first 05 CLM bride will be getting married soon!!!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Yes, they gave us Vienese for free if the chapel wasn't done in time. The last I heard, they had all the piping and electrical work done and the glass guy was coming to put all the windows looking out onto the water in. I think the staircase guy was coming too. I'll let you know after we go on Wednesday.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Hi girls,Well, the staircase wasn't even in yet, so I have no idea how far along to chapel is, but they gave us Vienese hour and the chocolate fountain, so it's all good. We finalized our menu too. If you girls were thinking of doing menu cards, I suggest you save the time and money unless you are doing something that really goes with a theme. The menu cards at CLM are really nice and will have your names on the top and there all different fonts and colors to choose from. I also suggest, when thinking about your seating arrangements and number of centerpieces, that you do not put more than 10 at a table. They say you can put 12, but it would definitely be squished!!!! All the guys at CLM are great and everyone's weddings will be wonderful!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I had no idea that you normally had to pay for the menu's. I guess he through them in because of the troubles. I would suggest that you get something added to the contract about compensation if the chapel isn't done. I'd like to say that in 6-7 months it should be done, but who knows. It really stinks about the bridal suite too--the upstairs one is pretty small. But I guess we really shouldn't be in there that long anyway.

Congratulations and welcome!!!There is a Holiday Inn in Hicksville I believe. When your father booked, he should have gotten a packet which has all the vendors including the hotels.
