Here is what I was told.... for getting the dress itself, you don't need to be your wedding weight.... but by the time the dress comes in and you are going for first fittting, you don't want to lose too much after they start with the fittings... I am going to hold off on the fittings as long as possible....

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
I have lost 10 lbs since November. I'm doing a little experiment. I've done WW forever (since before it was points & it was exchanges). Now I'm doing the low carb high protein diet that a lot of the New York Knot members are doing- so far, so good.

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
I did one week of buff brides, but have only done the cardio over the past 2 weeks. I'll continue with cardio until saturday and then start lifting again.Edited to say that I am having issues with how much time exercise requires!!! I need to find an extra 5 hours in my schedule!!!

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
Ahhhhhh - a Diet Thread! Excellent! Hauled my fat a$$ to work this morning and said, allrighty missy - NINE MONTHS to go! Like Sept20yay, my first fitting will be in June, so I have six months, really, to lose weight. I would like to lose 25-40 lbs, which I think I can do. Here are a few motivating visions:1) You, skinny and gorgeous in your gown on your wedding day, with no flopping chicken flab under your arms!
2) You, gorgeous and slinky in some amazing dress for your rehearsal dinner!
3) You, gorgeous and fit in shorts/tank tops/bikini/little black dress on your honeymoon!
4) You, feeling beautiful and sexy in your DH's arms as he holds you close and tells you how much he loves you.... (which he does anyway, but what the hell - it's a fun vision).

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
I am going to give on dieting. My new thought process. I will eat healthy and exercise. Thats what I did when I lived in Miami and I lost 40 lbs in 7 months. So if it worked then, I hope it works now.

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
Okay- this is something that worked for me... Last year I lost 40 ibs on ww and kept it off--- I gained back about 8 ibs, but I will take it off. One day at a time... today, when you see something you want, tell yourself you will have it tomorrow.... And then tomorrow, the next day.... you get the point.Remind yourself that every single day you'll look better than your last....

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
Thrilled-I'm doing Carbwatchers. It's similar to WW in that you meet once a week. it's different in that you meet one-on-one with a nutritional counselor. I basically eat less than 40 grams of carbohydrates a day. I eat absolutely NO sugar which is the hardest part of this way of eating. I eat unlimited amounts of protein and starch free veggies (i.e. 0 point vegetables). I eat limited eggs, cheese & nuts.
You can check them out on the web at www.carbwatchers.net.
They are more expensive that WW, but IMO worth it b/c you get the one-on-one that you don't get at WW.

This is great I need support too! After losing 15 pds, I gained 10 back and I am fitting (barely) into all the new clothes I bought!
I am SOOOO mad at myself!!! I am hoping (someone motivate me here on the hoping part) to go to the gym on Saturday for a step class. No more greasy food that is the first start for me

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
I hear ya CW - my addictions are bread and cheese and grease! I can not touch a brownie in front of me all day, but if someone set a plate of cheese fries or a bowl of chili or a greasy burger, it's a goner in 3 secs flat. I'm also an emotional eater - stress, forget about it. Eat, eat, eat. I have gained 15 lbs since 9/11.

Re: Diet time!! post here for support
my downfall is ooey gooey greasy foods and carbs. French fries with melted mozzerella and gravy on the side, rice, pasta (i could eat pasta 3 times a day and never get sick of it), steak, potato's, krispy kreme's and ice cream. But as I say every year, this year I am going to lose weight.
