Though I'm about a month away - my veil and head piece so far have been a big waste of money, mostly because my veil came in wrong twice and wasn't worth the expense or aggravation.

I personally didn't care if I have the intermezzo or not but the hall doesn't charge me extra for it so I figured why not.

The invites that we sent to people who never had any intention of showing up or sending gifts. Why did we feel obligated to send them? Our invites were expensive and I think that with postage it would have been a $250 savings if we had not sent to those people.

But I don't regret spending on the invites for my other guests.

My aisle runner. It got wrinkled after I walked down the aisle and looks like crap in the pictures.

We added a scoop of sherbet to the menu. It was served between the salad and main course. Mom thought it was elegent. I thought it was a huge waste of $$$. They charged us $6 per scoop!!

That's all!


OMG! i hope my RH doesnt charge for the intermezzo....its b/w that and a station at the CH...dont know which i shoudl get...

signing frame...wishing well.....2nd pair of wedding shoes.....wedding dress.

(just to clarify, I of course would have worn the same dress, but I found it for almost 30% less after I paid for 1/2 of it......I would definitely recommend shopping around for price even if you have found *the one*)

OOhh and Table cameras.....hardly any pictures came out from those little disposables


what was wrong with the signign frame?

I agree with spending money only on those things you will keep forever (photo, video, etc.) Great Advice!!

I already think I'm spending too much money on the hall.


i already know i'm spending too much $$ on my hall...my 'wedding budget' was 35k for 200 guests....but my RH alone is like $25k i'm so screwed!

I have no regrets about our wedding and even the table camera pictures don't bother me. This actually added to the night as people were smiling and taking pics of each other. Even of the pics didn't come out great, I have these intimate memories that are not sealed away in someone else's digital camera or PC.

I wish we never took limos-besides the fact that our limo experience wasnt a good one, looking back I wouldnt have take limos at all I would've put the $1400 or so to something else.

the votives around the CP were a waste of $ they kinda get lost on the table among everything else. So I would've rather done pillar candles or nothing at all.

This post is great. Thanks for all of the advice. I'm not married yet but I would say you can get a ton of nice flowers (bo-k's and cp's) for not a lot of money if you shop around. I am not having any church arrangements and I will be making my own pew decorations. No bows. They are white bags filled with (I haven't decided yet) hydrangea or baby's breath. I am having my aunt make the bags and I will probably buy the babysbreath in the flower district in the city.

I can't think of anything we wasted money on.

But since we're giving advice, I guess I'll just say that too many brides-to-be lose sight of the bigger picture. Sure, we all want a beautiful wedding day, but it will not be ruined if your bridesmaids don't wear matching shoes, or your MIL wears a dress you don't like, or your menu font doesn't match your invitation font, or if the roses in your centerpiece are closed even though you specifically told the florist they had to be open, etc etc etc.

None of that really matters when you have just pledged your love to your husband and are surrounded by friends and family who have come from all over the world to spend your day with you.

I agree- I was lucky in the fact that my Dad kind of let me run with it and plan my dream wedding

I am sure I spent more then most on certain things- like invites, rings, flowers

but everything was exactyly what I wanted and my Dad said it was worth every penny

I did waste $50 on hair clips- oh well
