Not so much a waste of $$$. But I would not spend a single second worrying what anyone else thought....I would do whatever it was that DH and I wanted and not spend a moment worrying that so-and-so wouldn't like it. It took me a while to get that down, but when I finally did, it stuck!

I think I will skip the disposable cameras. The cost of having them and then developing the pics, don't seem worth the moeny or effort. These tips are great! Please keep them coming! I am considering using a local florist for the church to try to save some money but I am worried as to quality.

I agree- I paid a lot for a photographer so I will let him take the pics. The ones that people usually take at the wedding is of food and some other ridiculous things and they don't always come out clear.

I agree- I was lucky in the fact that my Dad kind of let me run with it and plan my dream wedding

I am sure I spent more then most on certain things- like invites, rings, flowers

but everything was exactyly what I wanted and my Dad said it was worth every penny

I did waste $50 on hair clips- oh well

well if your not paying for it the its different - lucky you by the way BUT I cant see going into major debt to have a lavish affair if you cant afford it. the last thing a new marriage needs is financial problems.

we paid for an extra hour thinking everyone would stay and par-tay but most left at 11:30 ish...paying for 1 am was a waste plus we so couldve slept an hour longer before our flight

I spent a lot on favors (cds) I don't think a lot of people listen to them. I would go with something a lot cheaper.

FYI I did use my flip flops at the reception and I was glad to take my heals off.

Haven't been on here in a while, but thought I would add:

Disposable cameras - instead of putting them at every table, I asked 5 people in advance to take photos with them. I got some great shots that the photographer didn't get, but I also got MANY duplicates - how many shots of the first dance and cake cutting do you need? And the photographer got those anyway.

CH music - all we did was have a CD of harp music playing in the background, so I don't regret the $10 that cost, but I am glad we didn't pay extra for that, since I never heard any of the music at the CH anyway

Someone else mentioned, consider the size of the BP - a larger BP means more flowers, more gifts and possilby additional limos if you are providing that for everyone - it adds up fast.

We did splurge on our HM and I am so glad we did - it was worth scrimping on flowers and favors to put it towards the HM.

It was all worth it! I had a few things leftover-tins, tulle-no big deal at all.

I bought a wrap in case it was cold-which I never wore and returned since I never took the tags off.

I paid $$$$ for a Nelson D'Leon veil that I regretted from the begining-I bought it at Kleinfeld's w.my gown b/c I didn't want to have a matching problembut I actualy ended up loving it sooo much.--Although I must say Barons in Tri county had gorgroeus veils that were just as nice.
