This is a great thread but I just wanted to mention that I have emailed Jennifer at Fox Hollow and each time she has gotten back to me via email within a few hours. If anyone needs her email, just FM and I'll give it to you..It seems like it might be easier to get in touch with her this way instead of calling and leaving messages.

Could you FM it to me? Im having a very hard time getting calls returned.

Anyone here designing their own centerpieces? I am worried that the fox hollow won't set it up right - so I'd love to hear from anyone who's already spoken to them about this. (I am not asking for anything extravagant .. but am still a little concerned.)

I am! I was told by Arthur that they will do it. But then he left. And I was dumb and didn't get it in writing. So I also hope they can do this for me!

Okay D - here are the questions you had written..

Vendors & kids - what is the amount charged? Some people are saying half - my contract has 1/3 stamped on it (only after you hit your minimum).

How heavy can the cake topper be?

What size is too big for CP?

awesome...thanks for reminding me!!! i am losing my mind lately...so much to do!!

i also added to my list....

is 12 people at a round table too tight??
we are in the briar fox which holds 180.. i hope i get some no's.. or else that will suck!!!)

FH's friends got married at Fox Hollow and said they had a few tables- round ones though- with 12 people and it was fine. I dunno about the longer tables though.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

We are in the Lantern gallery for CH and WGP for reception.

I thought we were in briar fox for CH because that is what Arthurt told us, but in reviewing my contract recently, I see that isn't the case.

Its not a big deal, except I feel like Arthur promised us a lot of stuff that we aren't going to get now. I did catch some of it the day of and he handwrote it on my copy and his - I hope they don't give me a hassle in honoring that.

I'm sure it will work out, but I am a little not happy about the arthur thing. Also because I feel like I can't call them and get straight answers on some stuff.

I'm sure it will be great on the wedding day, just needed to vent a little.

Haha - I was just obsessing, thinking...what time is her appt!!!!!

Fox Hollow should thank this board!!!! She is answering so much for all of us.

I felt like I was in a daze when i booked with them - it was a few weeks after being engaged and we loved it and just did it. Wasn't thinking of all these details back then!

Thanks so much!

I wish they had something more simple, like with just their logo on it.

Ullwell - I think I will add another DIY to my list to make some with snowflakes to match my theme.

Haha, here’s where my weirdness comes out!

I actually like the fox hunting a lot because I’m a bit of a medievalist…in tons of medieval literature, you would have the fox hunt as a kind of parable of courtship. It’s not the romantic ideal that we may have today, but that’s the way it was back then. My favorite story with this is by far Gawain and the Green Knight. The lord of the castle that Gawain is staying in goes out hunting everyday while his wife is pursuing Gawain…the two men have an agreement that they swap whatever they had gained during the day at the end of the day so Gawain gets a fox and the lord gets two kisses his wife gave Gawain. It’s a much more involved story than that, but that’s just what it reminded me of.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

ok girls im here!!!
im glad i didnt scan it, because its posted, so thank you!! they are kinda ugly but im using them anyway.
well let me tell you... it is so overwhelming because there is so much to ask and having jen tell you the details , it just gets you all confused..lol
-- the vendors are 1/3 off
-- the cake choices are crazy!!! and you have a choice of 8 style cakes.. they were really beautiful!! and so sorry jess, i forgot to ask about the credit.. you are gonna kill me!!!!! the cake took forever for me to pick out, i was freakin out.. and thats why i got so overwhelmed..
-- the round tables were set up for 12... and its very comfortable for 12 people!!
-- you have to drop your stuff off the week of the wedding. (cp, candles, anything like that)
--- you get all these papers you have to fill out and give back
-- menus's they provide, which arent bad at all. and no , they do not have the bride and grooms name on them.. i asked her
-- tipping ... only maitre'd and bridal attendant

ok , im sure there is more, so i will think of it and post it.. i was so tired yesterday i didnt even come on last night.. i hope this answers some of the questions..

jessica.. im really sorry about the cake question. i did take jen's card that has her email on it, its at home so i can give it to you later... but she said that she does reply to emails much faster!!!

ok girls,..love ya lots!!!
HTH
