D: Did you get to taste the cake or did they show you a book with pictures and flavor opinions?
no tasting cakes... that kinda stunk, but oh well.. the cakes were really gorgeous though!! no complaints there, but im not picky either. they have a ton of choices for the filling.. and you pick 2!! and the type of cake you only pick 1. we picked vanilla sponge.
and the whole captain thing... i never heard of it..i dont even know who that is??? and whoever he is, i am not giving him any money

The Captain is the lead staff member. One of the BMs I met with told me about him. He's the waiter is the one in charge of all the rest. If we have to tip him/her, it's probably going to be $75-100.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
SHOOT - i deleted it!!!! I have this though:Fox Hollow was AWESOME. It is hard for me to imagine a catering hall doing a better job. Everything from the place, to the dance floor size, to the food was great. We got married in the Garden Terrace room and were lucky enough to have our cocktail hour outside. (it was supposed to rain all day but held off!) It was so beautiful! Then all the guests went inside through the bell tower and the room looked amazing (except for the stupid flowers) Then after cutting the cake they opened the mini Vienese hour outside which blew me away! So much food, so beautifully set up. I also can't say enough great things about our maitre'd and my bridal attendant. One of them was named Megan, but I forget the other's name. They were both females. They catered to my every need and were so polite and I felt like a princess.
It was great walking next store to the hotel after the wedding. They packed all our stuff up for us and took it over or brought it to my parents car. The room was beautiful. Perfect way to end the day.
We got to our cocktail hour by 7:15. We had a martini bar and they set up a frozen drink station at the outside bar. It looked nice. They put fruit on the bar and a little display so people knew they could get frozen drinks. We picked the French and Italian stations. I had some penne a la vodka and sausage and peppers and veggies in the bridal suite. It was all good. We also had a seafood boat bc they threw it in. I don't eat seafood but there was always a wait to get to it! Everyone raved about it! We had pork and lamb carving stations. I also did a signature drink. I ordered signs for it online and had the signs placed on all the bars, inside and out. Then people were able to order a drink all night.
We did the combination course bc it allows for a lot of extra dancing. Plus, I always feel people are full from cocktail hour and don't always need three courses plus dessert inside. I didn't eat it. The main course was awesome! My husband and I got to pick two things each from the menu. The steak was great!
Dessert was the best part of the night. They set up the Vienese hour outside and it looked beautiful. We had a cotton candy and popcorn machine (which were huge hits!). They also set up the coffee and tea outside, but served it inside as well. THey set up a cordial station and had chocolate shot glasses that everyone loved. THey had trays and trays of canollis, pastries, and cookies. They also had a fruit dipping station. They way they set it up was so pretty. They had lights everywhere and the brought back out the ice sculpture from cocktail hour and put a reddish-pink light behind it, it looked cool. During all this outside, they served the cake and banana splits insdide.
I hope I answered a lot of your questions. When you sit down with Jennifer to do your menu you will find that she is great and puts your mind at ease. She also substitued things for us and put down our special requests.

thats crazy!! we are so not going to tip him, because the sheets that you get in the final meeting has a section about tipping.. and its only for maitre'd and bridal attendant.. so he wont get anything from me.. i dont want to sound rude or anything, but its alot of tipping.. plus the 20% you paid up front.

We are in the Lantern gallery for CH and WGP for reception.
I thought we were in briar fox for CH because that is what Arthurt told us, but in reviewing my contract recently, I see that isn't the case.
Its not a big deal, except I feel like Arthur promised us a lot of stuff that we aren't going to get now. I did catch some of it the day of and he handwrote it on my copy and his - I hope they don't give me a hassle in honoring that.
I'm sure it will work out, but I am a little not happy about the arthur thing. Also because I feel like I can't call them and get straight answers on some stuff.
I'm sure it will be great on the wedding day, just needed to vent a little.![]()
This same thing happened to me with my BM, Ken. We were told we'd have an hour and a half cocktail hour, and then he said, 'we never do that.' I was also told I'd get a free night at the inn, and then it was 'oh that was only if your wedding was on a sunday, not a saturday.' I am getting neither now. :( Kinda stinks.
Ken Told me my cocktail hour would be an hour and a half. When I went to Fox Hollow they told me he was on a leave of absence and that I now have a new BM. That's kind of weird.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I'm almost positive it's on my contract that the cocktail hour is an hour & a half. I think it has to do with the fact that i'm getting married on a Sunday night & the restaurant is closed on Sunday - so we can have free reign of it...I'll check when I get home though to be sure...

We could have someone or all of us go to the bakery and get a bunch of stuff & then see if Jessica at the Executive Inn would let us use the lobby or something to taste them!!! We're all booking rooms with her - i'm sure if she wasn't booked - she'd let us!! I can handle emailing her if you are all really up for it!!

Wow - that's pretty rough....
Thank you for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FH just said there's nothing that says love more than guys hunting fox!!!!
HAAAAAAAAAA
they are ugly, im agreeing with you... however i think we are still going to use them.. unless i wen to party city, or michaels and by CHEAP ones..
Its not that they are ugly- thats the wrong word- its more that they are not my taste and would in no way go with the rest of my stuff at the wedding. I was also expecting something very plain and those are in no way plain so it kinda took me by surprise.
