I can't stand it when someone says something costs way too much money - it's only going to land in the trash, use it once, etc. I think it's rude to judge how people spend their money.
I also learned that you cannot really judge a situation until your in it. 6 months ago I would have totally balked at getting more expensive invitations... Today however, i can see why spending more money on them may be important to some people ... same goes for centerpieces, cake decorating, etc, etc ..
I've learned a lot this year! Anyway, point being, you have to take people's opinions, responses, etc with a grain of salt because you might not just be in the same place as someone else in your priorities....

People who do not write useful things in the subject line.Instead of 'I got my dress today' they say, 'OH MY GOD - YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
I know it's big news for them but we can't read every post so being descriptive helps us figure out which posts to read.
Also - people who post saying they reached 1000 posts or whatever. Come on - we all have other things to talk about. That seems so silly to me. I don't even know who the person is but I'm supposed to congratulate them for posting abot every little thing?

I know what you mean - I suffered from a severe case of sticker shock when we first started wedding planning. There was no way for me to know how much it costs for a good wedding photographer or the going rate for a DJ.
But I wouldn't say to anyone that they are wasting their money just like I would never call some one a cheap ba$tard if I think they are being one...LOL

Yes that is a pet peeve - the meanness of some people. Tell them that you don't agree or you would not do that but don't make them feel bad. Then again, sometimes people ask questions for the silliest things!

Also, too short or too long subject lines.....
'I have a question on Flowers' not 'I have a.... then inside it says question on Flowers'
be specific when posting...then if someone can answer they will open the post.
too long of a post...asking a question in the subject line...then having one or 2 words in the actual message!!![]()
I do the too short one all the time...
Sorry, I didn't think it bothered anyone.

I can't stand when people put someone's name in the subject line and then carry on a private conversation with them. Isn't that what FM is for?
THANK YOU #2
This makes me crazy ...
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!
it was annoying even before we got notification of FM's
Another thing that gets me...someone that posts thier review on the BHB board with tons of pictures but NEVER posts it on the review board!!Whats that all about??
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I'll be kind and say it's for the same reasons people post NWR on BHB ...
BLESS YOU!

I was just really happy when i reached 1000
to be able to change the saying & color under the avatar was a 'big' thing for me. This is supposed to be FUN...right ??? IMO![]()

No you are right. It is a fun thing to post and I guess its not the biggest deal in the world about being addicted but it must be something to LIW. I mean you get a T shirt and all.

Soooo.....my pet peeve is people not being patient enough with the newbies and making them feel embarrassed.![]()
Let's welcome each other and help each other out!! Just because you've read the answer to a question a zillion times doesn't mean others have!!![]()
Actually, compared to other boards, this one is pretty welcoming. Maybe its different now, but when message boards first started becoming more mainstream, newbies were looked down on, & it is sort of considered common courtesy to read a while before you post.
Not that justifies rudeness, but that is just the way it is.

Re: LIW Pet Peeves
I've found that most girls on this chat are awsome. I asked - and still ask
- pretty specific, possibly obvious to others questions, and no one's been mean! And I've seen some bad experiences posted and everyone is always so supportive!!! Are these girls like this in person? Wish I'd meet more of such on the streets.

Re: LIW Pet Peeves
I just thought of this - I'm not sure if I'm going to explain correctly but it seems like some girls depend solely on these boards for info rather than checking the internet first. Like 'When's the next Pre-Cana?' please check your diocese website for the dates

you should see some hard core computer geek ones!
Sorry for getting off topic! I'm surprised no one put that as a pet peeve.
Related to the search engine pet-peeves, are searches case sensitive? I think that's waht meeses up my searches.

Re: LIW Pet Peeves
I agree with most of the pet peeves that have been posted.. But LIW is right, they can't fix things without our help.. sohere are two idea's I thought of..
1) A relationship board, were people can post about their drama's and get advice, maybe there is a way we can enter it annuomusly (sp?) so people don't have to create new names to post.
2) Maybe we should bring back the chat room? I heard there was one once before, true or false?
Anyone else have some ideas?

Re: LIW Pet Peeves
I actually think we need to to rethink the different boards and come up with a good mix ... there seems to be too many and duplications all over the place ...Look at me 'we need to rethink'
Hahaha, who the heck am I?
ETA: but I like the idea of a picture board - with all the picture threads (hair, centerpieces, boquets, photogrpahy, etc ...) Even if that was added to just the Review board.
And I like a job board although we could combine Job/Home.
Combine Sports board
Get rid of May/2004/2005 boards (uh-oh don't flame me) - I just think the BHB board serves that purpose.

Yeah, great idea! Instead of the May board with 5 threads, start a HM one.
