Relating to the idea for the tote bag, I think LIW should give out prizes for reaching other milestones (5,000, 10,000 or something else like that). I know many of us out there could do it![]()

!
I really agree with that !!!
2000 5000 7000 etc
are all milestones

urgh I hate that I have something to respond to this but my BIGGEST thing is when people start a thread 'Look what I have!' but dont tell anyone how to get it! Thats just showing off and helping NO ONE.

I second that!!! I have no pet peeves about LIW. I think we should be grateful to have this website as a resource when planning a wedding!

Having been a newbie in January, I didn't know how to find previous posts and search and got 'yelled at' a couple times for not doing a search first or knowing that someone had recently asked that question.
Let's welcome each other and help each other out!! Just because you've read the answer to a question a zillion times doesn't mean others have!!![]()
Thanks for the vent!!![]()
Okay, maybe I'm still too much of a newbe and it's late so I may vent/ramble, but why would it be a big deal to 'repost' items previously posted? Isn't it nice to get a fresh perspective? Trends, styles and ettiquette change in the wedding industry enough that I'm not sure what the big deal is. If a lady doesn't want to see a repeat post... don't read it is what I would suggest. I'm not trying to be rude either, but I'm becoming so addicted to this site that when I'm on for hours at a time trying to read through what I find to be interesting topics (even if they are no longer interesting to the Veterans - not sure what a Veteran really is when it comes to planning something that'll be over in a year or 2 anyway), I really don't want to spend the extra time searching and reading through things that may have been so, lets say, 'last year'. Plus, maybe we want advice from other new ladies as well. We're all in the same boat dealing with the stresses and strains. It's bad enough that those in our lives not in the position of 'bride' have no idea what we are dealing with so why not support eachother and welcome eachother. Just my thought, not meant to offend so pls don't get upset. I've had some nasty replies too, not sure why people feel the need to do that, but I guess it's their own insecurities shinig through or maybe stress of planning a big event and they can't take it out on family or FH so why not an anonymous stranger? I ignore it, usually there are enough nice or sincere people on here that the mean one's aren't really worth worrying about.
Personally, and not to be contradictory, I was very glad that the one bride posted that she lost her pet... even though that was NWR, I may not have had time to check that out since I never go on the NWR forum anyway. If pet loss wasn't something I was moved by... I wouldn't read it/respond. I was happy to see how many ladies offered support during a difficult time when she is supposed to be so happy - planning for the best day of her life. The fact that it was NWR was in my mind, irrelevant, b/c when planning a wedding, EVERYTHING that goes on in your life becomes wedding related.

Well, a lot of us are just typing under pressure here (sometimes at work or cooking or taking of the kids) I don't think spelling should be a big issue. And this is not School

That's why they're 'pet peeves'

Re: LIW Pet Peeves
I hate when you write a response and want to go back and check something in the thread and you lose everything you wrote.I also thought of FM's and how nice it would be if we received an e-mail for them the way we get for a response to a thread.
As for the search, it would be great if we would put in a post member as well as a forum or word. Narrowing down the search would help a lot when it's a very broad topic.
Otherwise - I love how this site is set up and it is an easy, fun and quick way to learn things.
Ohhh, one more - when you do a search for a vendor, and you know people listed them in their profiles, they won't come up unless they are discussed in the thread. The search would be more helpful if it picked up words from the profile also.

*You mean to subscribe to receiving FM, as you do when you receive a response to a post? That option it available. Go to My Account, and check the Email me when I get new Forum Mail option under Account Info.
**You can narrow down the search now. When this post 1st started, I asked about that, too, and LIW delivered. You can now put in a search word, and a member's name, and it comes out for you.
Hope that eases the LIW experience now.
