Re: My Reception Site Short List!! Opinions?
My sister got married at CHCC three years ago, and I'm getting married there in November. I do know there is another wedding going on during mine, but we have the entire upstairs portion of the Crest Hollow so I don't think it will be a problem.

Craigshunny--we had it in the Astor room (upstairs room) and had 164 people. We didn't look at many other places...but have been to so many weddings on LI! We fell in love with how charming it is, and even though there is another wedding going on they never make you feel like it is.

Smithtown Landing is small, I had a hard time finding it, and there were a bunch of family's in their bathing suits wandering around from the pool/beach or whatever. That wouldnt be a prob in March or Nov though.
how small?

I got married at the Beach CLub Estate in May. It was wonderful!! Link to my Review
Hi! First off, you made a BEAUTIFUL bride!!! I read your review and it was very helpful. If you don't mind my asking, how many people did you have? Do you think if we decided on an early November wedding, we'd be okay?
Thanks!!![]()
thanks! early november should be fine. Though I'm not sure if you wanted to do an outside ceremony???
I had 90 guests - invited 130 or so. I needed to guarantee 90 and I *barely* just made it :D

I know what you mean about Giorgio's. I was completely blown away by everything I saw when I was there. Because we're only having about 75 people, we'll actually be in the smaller room...the one to the right when you walk in. I'm still looking at other places to see if I can get a better price.
Thank you so much for the input!

Both are eastern Long Island. Majestic Gardens is in Rocky Point area, on Rte 25 or 25A (whatever its called!). Giorgio's is in Baiting Hollow...Exit 71 off of the LIE...North Shore LI.
Both are beautiful!

I worked at Watermill years ago along with going to my cousin's wedding there. It is a wonderful place! The food is terrific! The service i do say so myself was wonderful! The kitchen is so clean! (and that is NOT true of other places I have worked) and it is improtant to me, so I always asked to see the kitchen and they always let me !
went to a wedding this past july at venetian yacht club- THE MOST FUN WEDDING I WENT TO, the waiter was a little rude, but we thought he was funny, if he were with a different kind of table he may not have been so so funny...ya know what i mean. Food was good- it has an amazing view!
Went to look at majestic gardens...friendly salesperson/owner, heard the food is fabulous, didnt love the main road it is on and the fact that it is so close to the road, didnt like the entrance, loved the secret garden, didnt love the area on the patio-
Went to see giorgios- my mom is distant friends with george SR. food is good, place is beautiful
worked for watermill which owns Beach Club Estate
Thanks so much for the insight! I went to a wedding at Watermill ages ago and all I remember of it was it being so DARK inside so originally, I wasn't even going to consider it. But a lot of people have told me it went through major renovations and I should definitely look at it. I know EXACTLY what you mean re: the waiter! I think it's great when people can turn what could be a rude-waiter situation into something funny and memorable (sort of like what my group of friends do!)
I fell in love with Giorgio's right away so it is the place that all others are being compared to. I know my FH wants to have a choice of places but ultimately, we'll end up where I want (boys are so fun when they realize they can't win on some points...like our wedding!!!)![]()
If you are going out to see Giorgios and MAjestic, i suggest you go see east wind since it is in the area too, of course i am partial to it, since I am getting married at the estate but it truly is magnificant in my opinion...

I've seen the Country Gardens building and it's beautiful! It's still an option for us but the minimum is pretty high for a Sunday in November. Saw Watermill tonight and it's now in the Top 3. More to see though so that could change!

Went to 2 weddings recently....Watermill and Majestic Gardens - personally I would go with Majestic Gardens. There is one wedding at a time and the grounds are beautiful. Giorgio's is also beautiful.

The food was good at both places, but the wedding at Majestic Gardens was amazing bc the couple got married outside which was GORGEOUS. One wedding at a time really is great. The Watermill is nice too, but I don't like that there are 2 other weddings going on, it reminds me of a wedding factory (IMO) I like the feeling of having the whole place to yourself. Like I said, this is JMO.

I see your point. Honestly, the 1 wedding at a time aspect is one of the reasons I LOVE Giorgio's. We'll see what I'm saying after I check out some more places tomorrow and Sunday! lol
