I want the salad to be plated as the guests walk in

we are personally not having the salad plated already...I know it saves time, however, I would get skeeved out if someone were to sit at my seat in front of my salad, then move their seat or something, and me be sitting at my salad. Like if a child sits in a seat, takes a bite of a salad, then moves their seat without changing plates.

I just don't like how everyone will be milling around all the food....I know my guests probably wont think that way, but I do when I sit down for a meal....

i know, i'm weird.

Yeah, I thought my mom would have mentioned this first, but I brought it to her attention, and she was like, oh yeah...so she was all about having it served after I mentioned it. It's sounds awesome in theory...but I just wouldn't want someone accidentally sneezing in my food, and me not knowing about it.

I think we're doin soup first, so we're waiting until everyone is seated before we serve. Otherwise, it will be cold.

They don't, we are doing a little something extra and having them serve pumpkin soup. I saw it once and couldn't let it go....

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread

Christine...the pumpkins are adorable. I agree with everyone...I hate having the food already on the table. Salad looks all wilted on the plate too. I wanted to get back to Christine about my centerpiece but I didn't want to put it in a new post since it had my name on it. I tried to scribble my name out...hopefully it works. Too bad you can't see the long glass vase with the yellow and orange leaves in it. Here we go.

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread

I am so happy with it. I wasn't looking for the perfect ball of flowers. I wanted something that looked more natural. There is green in it...and I think that is great

Looks awesome! How much do you love Keyth? We're using some similar flowers. Did you see the ones from my sample meeting? They're in my bio on theknot.
Aren't you gettng so excited now? Everything is coming together so quickly. I just ordered my veil today too!

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread

Keyth is wonderful. I did see your sample as well....luckily we have similiar tastes...easier for for them to get flowers I assume. So are there any other decorating ideas you can think of Christine? I have silk fall leaves for the place card table and I figured I may sprinkle some around the centerpieces. I really have to figure out if I am going to use the flowerfield placecards or not. I got leaf stickers for them...or else I could just have them made. I make my RSVP date Oct 1st...which really does not give me a lot of time. I can't believe I was concerned that we wouldn't be able to reach the minimum...the invite list is up to 180...yikes

Re: NEW official Flowerfields thread

I was going to use the FF placecards but then we thought it'd be nice to do something a little different. Keyth told us about doing a large frame with matting (pink and brown for me) and then list everyone's seating info on the frame. I haven't seen it yet but will get a fax sample this week.

11 days, I can hardly sleep any more I'm so excited!!! .......................

I do not know how many guests you are having at your wedding - but if it is a large amount I wouldn't suggest the frame for seating, although it looks beautiful, you have a line of people waiting to check their table numbers at the end of the cocktail hour, I've been to a wedding that had it and it was not the best idea.
It did look great, but not practical at all
