Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Elissa. My wedding is on November 2nd. I've been lurking for awhile, but I figure since its so close I better start posting! Due to an unfortunate situation in my family, I've taken a long break from planning and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. So far I have

-The hall
-The photographer/videographer
-The band
-The florist (just booked this weekend!)
-My dress
-My veil, jewelry, shoes
-I told my girls to start to look at dresses. I told them to go to David's and pick out whatever dress they feel comfortable in in the color 'truffle'.
-wedding rings

I don't have
-hair and makeup
-bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts
-tuxes for the guys
-Yamukahs

We are not doing favors or limos. Is there anything that I am missing? Because I haven't done much of anything since the beginning of the year I feel like I'm really behind. I'm getting sooo excited, though! 6 months away!

Hello and welcome! I think the only things you're missing are:
-Invites
-Ring bearer pillow (I just bought a cute one from David's in ivory and truffle)
-parent gifts

and I think thats it

Ok,, so we didnt book the honeymoon this weekend. But hopefully this week it will get done. I am waiting on $600 check from the government!! I am putting it back into the economy like a good girl!! LOL

But I did finish a 6 Month to go Newslettter for my bridesmaids! That will be sent out tomorrow.

im working on my invites now...its a slow process for me!

we met with our bm and are in good hands...im just waiting until the end of summer to finalize everything with the vendors.

we still have to book the limos for the bridal party (we have ours)....but was told to hold off.

now im just working on projects and getting all the details/info together! craziness!

2- Saturday going to buy wedding band
3-Work on finding paper to wrap favors
4-Printing for personalized wedding related items
5- We are make an appointment to order invitations

I can not believe it is 183 days away for me.

I would worry about FMIL's dress yet. I am the weekend after you I think and neither my mother, his mother or my step mother have even started shopping yet. I would not stress over it....It's their loss if they dont find a dress in time! That is the approach I am taking!

ALRIGHTY girls.. im back in wedding mode...

this weekend im gettign FH's invite list... and i will add it to my list here at home... so we can get an idea to the # of invites...

limos... FH is doing that on his own (i will not use one)

tux ,,, same... FBIL is helping Fh with that during the summer...

spoke to the BM's and told them i want them to get dyable shoes...

mom has her dress... FMIL has her dress!

FH and i have to think about invites and favors this coming week/ weekend.

When should invites be ordered by?


You should start shopping around for designs, places and prices now. Depending on what you want and how many you want, they can take a while to come in. Also, when do you plan to send them out? And do you want to get calligraphy done on them? These questions will affect when to order.

I plan to send them out by Sept 14, so I would need to have computerized calligraphy done by the end of August, so I would want all my invites in by early-mid July (in case there's a problem and have to be re-ordered).

Also, will you be getting direction cards or other inserts printed?

We are planning on sending out the invites in or around 8/27/08. That way we have 5 weeks for people to RSVP and 2 to hunt down any body who doesnt send one back. Also it gives us the proper amount of time to let the East Wind know whats what!

we are going to disney for 2 days and then down to key west for the rest of the week- cant wait!!
