What did you wear? How was the food?

I wore a brown and cream polka dot tea lenght dress and the food was great.

I went to a tasting at CLM and the food was really good I wish we could go to a wedding there sometime!
Another one...the one I am most curious about lol...did you feel funny at all being 40+ in a sea of 'younger' brides? This is why I hesitated buying tix and by the time I decided they were sold out....

Would you believe no one said anything. Also I wouldn't care I have the same rights to be there as the 20s and 30s. I was on the dance floor and stay there. To me age is a number and as long as you feel young at heart it doesn't matter. CLM is having a V-day dinner, but I can't remember how much.

Re: Official 40+ Brides

Just wondering.....

My DH and I are 50+. We are not going to have any children.

We do have a number of cats that we rescued. To us, they are almost like children. They give us unconditional love and seem to know when we are down, which is when they want to 'snuzzle'.

Just wondering if anyone that reads this thread feels the same way about their pets.

I have not pets at the moment but I was married before and had no kids, but we did have 2 cats. They were my'kids'. The worst part was when I had to leave them when I left my ex. I couldnt take them with me. to this day I call on both their b'days and say happy b'day on the ans machine from mommy. I know its silly but I still miss them.
FH and I arent going to have children but we are planning on dogs.(FH is allergic to cats) They will be our babies!

Re: Official 40+ Brides

Yippie!!! Finally a thread for us fabulous ladies over 40!!!
I actually joined LI Weddings when I first got engaged but have not really followed too much because I couldn't relate very much to the 20 and 30 somethings here on this board. Nothing against them at all, I just am at a different stage in my life at them. I am sooooo excited that there are other ladies on here that I can relate to.

About me...I have been engaged for two years this week, and plan to marry sometime next year. Just starting my planning now. I will be 41 when I marry, he will be 38. It is my second marriage, his first. (Although I would like to forget that the first one ever happened )

Re: Official 40+ Brides

Ok - so I booked my church! So happy. Now the only problem is getting FH Baptism Certificate. FH was adopted at 6 months but he was baptized when he was 3 weeks old. We dont know what church but it was in Rockville Center. So now we have to some research. Why hasnt the whole Church thing been easy for me??? Everything else is falling in place so nicely except the church

OMG we feel exactly the same way about our 3 cats...I love them (I heart ALL cats lol) and couldn't live w/o them. SO true about unconditional love :) I am 41 and DH is 47 and we are not against the idea of kids but we also accept the fact that it may not happen for us biologically bec of our ages. So our cats are our furry children....I want to buy my mother a T-shirt that says, 'So you're telling me all my grandchildren have fur?'
