Re: Official 40+ Brides

Has or is anyone registering? I havent yet and not sure if I am going to. When I left my ex I moved back home with just the clothes on my back. I left everything behind. And when FH dad died and his mom got sick 2 yrs ago he moved back home to take care of her, he left everything to his roommate. So we really dont have anything. But I dont think that I will be having a bridal shower though. Since I have been married before and already had one I dont think they will give me another. So I am thinking why should I register. I think if I do register and noone buys me anything off of it I will get upset. I dont know. What do you guys think?

Re: Official 40+ Brides

I have not yet registered but we plan to. I was hoping that we would find a house but that hasn't happened yet, so I think we are going to register shortly after the new year. Obviously, we don't 'need' anything, but I don't have china or crystal and in reality I don't think I've bought new sheets and towels in at least 5 years, so they're all starting to look a little skanky.

I definitely think you should register. Regardless of age or whether or not you were married, don't deprive yourself. I assume most of your and FH's friends and families know that you both need practically everything. Look at it this way, if they do throw you a shower, you will have registered. If you don't get a shower, people will still buy you gifts. Look at it like whatever you get is a bonus.

Re: Official 40+ Brides

I will be regsitering the first time around I had no shower or wedding. However I don't see anything wrong with you having another shower. I see it all the time with baby showers when people have babies far apart. So why can't we have showers for our second weddings????

Re: Official 40+ Brides

I agree. I was a first time bride but moms have more than one baby shower so why can't you have more than one bridal shower? I think you should register and have fun!! If worse comes to worst they send you coupons for closing out your registry (after your wedding) so you save more money than if you hadn't registered...you can also ask for stuff from it for holidays. DH and I asked his mom and sister to get us some of our place settings for Hannukah/Christmas.

Re: Official 40+ Brides

Maybe I will register. I guess it wont hurt. But my mom said when I got engaged 'dont expect another shower'. I was thinking I probably will get one at work though. So maybe I will register.

Re: Official 40+ Brides

I did register....and got almost every single thing. People like it because it is easy. i didn't have a shower.(something I am a little regretful about). Have another shower, remember you have all new inlaws!
