Re: Official 40+ Brides

Lately my FH has been obsessing about the RD and where to have it. The place we were foing to have it just chnaged owners and we dont really like it anymore.
I personlly think its just a reason to go out and try a bunch of different restaurants.

We are getting marry at the RH, and we don't have a BP. The Gallery is couple towns over. So I'm not sweating it.

Re: Official 40+ Brides

Ladies, I have thought long and hard about this and I am not feeling any of the wedding gowns. Since I want 2 dresses. I am feeling a formal dress and a cocktail dress. Both of these dresses can wear again and dye them. Have any of thoughts on this? With all these red carpet shows and I am really like some of those dresses. My mom thinks I should have my dress made. I don't want to spend a lot on a dress I will wear only once. So please tell me want you think.

Renay- I think that's a really great Idea. If you are not liking any of the wedding dresses you shouldn't have to settle. Get something that you like and what makes you happy. Its your day. Don't let the wedding 'traditions' dictate to you what to wear. Do you know someone who can make your dress?

Re: Official 40+ Brides

FH and I are really stressing out over this wedding. We only have Saturdays to work on things and Starting March 14 we wont even have that till the end of June. (I am taking a class for a test I have to take for work). Weekday evenings he is the caregiver for his mom who is home bound, on a walker and on oxygen ( and is so difficult to deal with) and on Sundays I am there to help him out. We dont seem to have any time for ourselves. Between the stress of the church and trying to find FH baptism certificate and everything else we are starting to think maybe we should have just gotten married at city hall and go on a HM. I know he really wants this wedding since its his first but I am so afraid all of this will take a toll on him. I am sorry I need to vent a little. Couldnt really with my family because as I have said in other posts they dont understand why we are doing this anyway.
Thank you all for listening. I am sure we will still go on with the plans but we need to have time for ourselves and we have to find it sometime.

Yes, but I was thinking of going into the fashion district and buy the dresses.

Hey ladies. got married at 48.

Welcome Dee. I will be 43 and FH 51 when we get marry. I was looking at your wedding pics and these are the things I love: your dress, shoes, the note for the slippers, and invite. What really made the both of you stand out to me was how much fun it was. That's what i want when I look at my pics, eventhough it was a wedding it was loose and real enjoyment. I made have some more questions for you. P.S. Delores is my mother name.

You def. have a lot on your plate right now Sounds like you and FH really need some quality time. Is there any way you can take even a one-day trip and get away?
I'm also wondering about your FMIL. Being a primary caretaker can totally take its toll....it doesn't seem fair to him (I hope you don't mind my saying that)- can he get a nurse's aide or someone to relieve him/help him at least one night each week to free up an evening for him (and you)?

We have an aid there till 6:00 Mon-Fri and Sat till 8:00. We are looking into getting one for Sundays and maybe eventually (in the summer) a 24 hour live in. If we get a live in it would make life so much easier., and we would be able to get away. What stinks is that we have a house in Greenport that is a gerat getaway place but we cant get there unless its just for the day. Its just getting harder and harder especially since she is such a difficult person.
Good note though, FH got his Baptism Cert. in th mail today. One less worry.
