Hi Fellow August Brides,

Just wanted to share that tomorrow is my first dress fitting. It will be nice to see the dress I picked out again. :)

My invitations are almost completely addressed. I have a few more to go and then out the door they go on Saturday morning.

How is everyone else doing?

Janie...our 69 day countdown was during the weekend, I totally missed it...I am glad to see that there is only 67 more days to go though.

I know! Is it just me? Didn't it seem like we were at 100 days last week? I cant believe it is June 20th already. 5 more days and we are at the 2 month mark!!

My first fitting is July 15th... It seems so late... I have to loose some more weight.. 6 more is a goal of mine . I think I can I think I can!!! I will just have to think skinny thoughts

I just started receiving responses back. I am getting some 'no's so Im happy. I'm hoping for not more then 220 people. Anything over that, we are in deep $hit because there will be no way we can afford it.

I will have to remember to take some photos...I totally forget sometimes....I am a bit camera shy...wait what am I saying I am totally camera shy. Let's say I am the photographer of the group but the one that is never in photos.

Congratulations on the losing of the weight and I am sure you will get the last 6 pounds, but from your photo it doesn't seem like you need to lose any. But I will send my skinny thoughts to you because there is no way I have time to try to lose maybe 5 pounds myself.

OMG!! I'm freaking out..in 2 months from today I will be a bride I definitely agree that it feels like there was 100 days to go!

FINALLLY sending out my invites today..hoping for a LOT Of NO's......we have 234 ppl now invited..we t hought originally like 175...YIKES!!!!!!


I went for my first dress fitting last week n it was horrible..it was so big on top, i dunno what im going to do...next week I have anothe rone....im scared!!!
i wont even post pics bc i look so pissed in them! lolol

Hey!! I haven't posted in awhile...

My invites went out last week and the responses are rolling in.. 180 invited, 40 yes, 7 no!

I have my first fitting on June 1st and just rescheduled my second fitting for July 22nd. My dress fit great and I fell in love with it all over again.

I had my first consultation with my DOC and they drafted my timeline, must-take photos, ceremony diagram... a total life saver!!

I had my menu tasting - phenomenal!! My parents are still raving about it!

There is so much more.... 2 MOS FROM TODAY!!!

46 days for me . had my first fitting - it was fine, they need to change the zipper on my gown because something is wrong with it and it needs to be brought in but she said she wont' do that until my 2nd fitting - in case i lose some weight. i'd LOVE to.... I'm also having her add some beading to the bodice since there was none on the gown.... what a relief

My first fitting is July 3 and then I have two more appts if necessary and my last is August 8. I sent out my invites yesterday and ordered my favors so all I have left is to find a limo.

I had my fitting yesterday and they only have to take care of the hem and the bustle. Can I ask why it is so expensive to put in three buttons for a bustle?

Sorry I don't have pics becuase the camera's batteries died. I used it a lot this past weekend and week and didn't think to bring replacement batteries.

How's everyone else doing this Thursday. One more day and then the weekend!

girls, this is the worst part of the planning, waiting for the responses to come in. we have more then half, now they are coming in one or two at a time...driving me mad!!

At least you have your invites out...I am still working on them. Saturday they are going in the mail.

I think you are forgetting to breath. The only thing once we get closer to our date is to:

-Get all important contact numbers for vendors together.
-Confirm with vendors and honeymoon.
-Put together all objects for reception if you are using them (cake topper, cake server, card box/card bag, etc.)
- Putting together day of emergency stuff.

As for myself....

Invites went out on Saturday and the last 10 today...so I am finally finished with that headache. Let the RSVP's come in.

-I have to finalize plans with the church.
-Get Wedding Day jewerly
-Plan some sort of mini bachelorette party. (Don't really want one.)
-Menu Selection with Reception Hall
-Prepare programs
-Buy Throwing Candy for Church
-Contract Bridesmaids about their dresses
-Act suprised at the bridal shower (act becuase I know when it is and where they just don't know that I know yet. I don't like suprises so I was a bit attentive to what was going on.)
-Finish minor remodeling of house
-Get Bridal Party Gifts
-Get Parents Gifts
-Prepare Must take photos and select songs for reception.
-Go over ceremony music with church
-Get Marriage Liscense
-Shop for more clothes for the honeymoon

And I am sure there is plenty of I am forgetting. It seems like a lot to do, but I can't wait until that day. Planning has become a bit draining.

We are getting discouraged. We sent our invites out about 2 weeks ago, and a lot of people are telling us that they have not received them yet. These are individuals that live inthe 5 boroughs!

One person told me that their invitation arrived partly shredded!

I dunno what to do...we don't have extra invitations to send out a second time!!!

Oh god thats scary. When I sent out the invited from Queens, the Queens people got them the following day and the Long Island people got them two days later

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the invitations. I am not sure what you can do. I guess you can call people to verify if they got their invitations. If they said no maybe you can send a DIY invitation. Though this is definitly a tough situation.
