Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
Hope you have an amazing wedding day tomorrow Sue (sujeire)!!!And I promise ladies as soon as I get some pro-pics back I will have my review up. Everything was great - a couple little things that upset me at the DM - but I wouldn't let anything ruin my day so it was fine. I am so happy to be married and have NO MORE STRESS.

Can't believe it will be our One Year Anniversary soon. May 29th!!FYI: Think about your wedding date in regards to anniversaries. I didn't realize that every year we'd be celebrating on a pricey weekend with lots of traffic. Not the biggest deal but something to think about when planning.

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
I am going to see the space this weekend. Would you please kindly share with me the rate on a Sunday noon if it's memorial weekend? Also, any suggestions of which sales person to work with there. thanks! If everything is good, then you have a 2012 wedding there!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
I am not sure what's changed since I got married in May 2010. I would have booked the DM in July 2009. I know they include the uplighting now and that guy Sam is no longer there. I chose the package with Ariana Studios so I could afford a Spring, Saturday evening wedding in the Grand Ballroom. Otherwise, that is the most expensive time of year, day and time of day-around $145 pp??I luved having my wedding on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. I felt it gave my guests an extra day to relax after a full day of my wedding. I had Chris Lucarto whom I luved. He is funny too. Hit it off with DH real well.
Well, good luck on your visit and decision. Let us know!

The rate on a Sunday at noon would be less expensive than the Sat evening, obviously. I think you'll get a better deal for that Monday, Memorial Day weekend too or a Friday night.
The only thing I don't like about a Memorial Day weekend, not a big thing but good to keep in mind, is that we tried to go away for our First year anniversary and everything was so much more expensive, booked up and lots of traffic but we managed to celebrate!!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
thank you so much. What are other options do you suggest in NY area that are not too far and provide an outdoor space with reasonable rate to host a wedding? thanks

What exactly are you looking for? Ceremony and reception outside? What part of Long Island-Nassau or out east more in Suffolk? How casual or upscale? I've checked out a lot of places. One hidden gem if you're into a more private feel is the San Souci in Roslyn.

we live in the city so this is why Douglaston is our top choice so our friends don't have to travel far. I am looking for a small outdoor area for the ceremony and then reception. thank you!Welcome New Vendors
