I'm the same weekend!

I'm September 24, 2010! I'm so excited!! We are the same weekend!

How gorgeous is that place??

And almost no one knows about it... (at least not near my neck of the woods... which is an appeal to me)

I have the grand ballroom plus the T... hopefully cocktail hour outside.... let's pray for beautiful weather that weekend!

I thought that was what they said, but when we got home we trying to remember everything that was said and couldn't remember on that detail. We'll at least that is one thing thing to have to do through the florist

thats awesome to meet someone on here that has the same wedding detail. I never knew they had websited like this. I read ealier you already did a tasting, was the food good? who is your bm?

I can now choose from the Ariana florist or the DM in house florist, Cress Florist which I feel more confidant with. Also, I want to go with Amanda Piccone for my photography. She will make me feel more comfortable on my wedding day and she is awesome. So, I am happy with all my choices. The DM uses Cascon bakeries and they make beautiful, fondant cakes.

I really lucked out with my wedding package and the DM is beautiful. We are having an evening wedding using the Grand Ballroom, cocktail hour outside and we get the Garden City Hotel for our honeymoon night free!

Chris, our banquet manager is the best! I can't wait for him to return so I can put down the deposit. Also can't wait for the review from the bride who's wedding was on Aug. 1st at DM.

I have a entire year to wait so I am focusing on losing weight and the dress for now.
This is so exciting.

The New Douglaston Manor Mansion was AWESOME! They exceeded my expectations by a million.



Let's start with my BM, SAM.

HE WAS THE BEEEEEEEEEEEEEST! I cannot say enough about him. He was on the ball since the day we booked (2 years ago) and went above and beyond for us. Everything was PERFECT, from the room, the ceremony, cocktail hour, my ice sculpture, menus, THE FOOD, the cake, and the bar. EVERYTHING was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! and it was because Sam knew what I wanted and made it happen. Girls if you are using SAM, you have NOTHING to worry about!!!!!




My bridal attendant Michelle

This girl was GREAT! From the moment I arrived till we were driving away this poor girl waited on me hand and foot. She even wrote us a litte letter on our cake box, it was soooo sweet!


The other Michelle at the front desk

WOW She was the one who collected all my stuff all week and was supposed to be my bridal attendant but something came up and she wasn't at work. So when FH & I sit at our dais table we see a little pink note with a glitter butterfly on it and it was an apology note from Michelle to apologize for her not being there and congrats etc. It was one of the cutest notes EVER!


THE FOOD

People are still calling my mom to tell us how GREAT the food is. I LOVED my food. FH loved it...and people raved about all the cocktail hr food, the dinner, the cake, and the chocolate fountain. AWESOME!



The Staff

Our bartenders, waiters, and runners etc......were totally awesome. I've been to so many weddings where the staff are young kids who could care less...this was NOT NOT NOT the case at Douglaston. The staff was soooo accomodating and nice.....they were always asking if we needed anything.

The room

The pics speak for themsleves......it was GORGEOUS!

Question when you get a chance. Did you use special lighting? Looks like fushia lighting which is so pretty. Is that from the DJ or you hired lighting specialists.

Congrats again! Looking forward to the lengthy review.

Thanks!!!! Yes I had special lighting done by my DJ.....Phil from After Hours...he is a vendor on here.

Thanks! Yeah we took pics on the golf course....I don't have my pro-pics yet though so I don't know how they came out.

It isn't but there were other events after mine started and I never saw anyone else.

Tune in to Dr. Phil today, Thursday, to see when I win the $2500 gift certificate to Kleinfeld! I go on stage with Dr. Phil and I am wearing a bright pink shirt and jeans. It may come on twice during the day so check your TV Guide. For Long Island, it airs at 3pm on CBS and 6pm on Channel 22.

The part where I am at Kleinfeld will air some time next week. They will tell me which day next week. Looks like I am recording the show every day!!! In the meantime, I got a call already from Kleinfeld about making an appt to come in for my dress!

Being engaged is a lot of fun. Choosing expensive dresses, beautiful reception sites like the Douglaston Manor, winning contests and so many opportunities to wind up on TV these days, it really is your day to shine. Now I just need to win my honeymoon!
