Oh wow! Glad you pointed out the new web site.

I happen not to be working. I can't imagine working with all that I have to do. Maybe I procrastinated or am doing too much? Hoping my hoarse voice clears up by Monday so I can sing two dance songs with the recording engineer to play at my wedding.

BTW, I have a blusher. When does that get pulled back? I thought after the father gives away the bride but my mom said I keep it that way thru the entire ceremony until FH kisses the bride.

Mine was over my face when I walked down the aisle. Then my dad pushed my blusher back when he kissed me and 'gave me away' at the beginning of the ceremony. So it was up for the whole ceremony.

I've seen it both ways where FH pushes it over when he has to kiss the bride but I prefer to do it like you did. I don't want that in my face the whole time.

OK. I will have more questions. I am a bride on the final countdown never married before so stand by LIW pals!

I just went to the DM on Saturday to see the venue and I was very impressed. Our only concerns are: there is no space for the band or DJ designated and that the room is a T shape and we are worried about how the guest will like this.

Can anyone that has had there wedding at the DM help ease my mind about these two things?

I am sure Princess Trockel aka Natalie will get back to you. She got married there last August. I am getting married there this Saturday.

I need to ask you all: I went with the DM/Ariana Studios package which says it includes ALL gratuities. Well, it didn't include the Maitre D and bridal attendant at the DM but I am sure the guys at Ariana studios expect to be tipped.
How much would you tip for:
DJ
MC
Each limo driver
anyone else?

My wedding night. Miss my FH who is in the hotel. I need to get to bed. My mom and sister MOH is ragging on me as usual. Unbelievable. Trying to not let their nasty tempers get me down. Even on my day it's not my day! :)

Hope it doesn't rain for my 2:30pm church ceremony in Baldwin and photos at 4pm at the Old Westbury Gardens. Then off to DM for my reception at 6:30pm with outdoor cocktail hour.

Felt a bit rushed. Just finished packing for my honeymoon night at the Garden City Hotel. Of all things, we forgot to drop off the favors at the reception hall but can bring it with us tomorrow.

Tuesday we're off to Sandals Dunns River in Jamaica. Can't wait.

Just hope for no rain and so I won't get my period which may happen!

OK girls. It's been fun planning with ya. This is it. I am sharing this time with you as my mom and sister are quite nasty with me now and I did nothing. They tend to gang up. So, thanks for being on this forum for me. I miss FH.

Any last words of wisdom? Here I go! Mrs. Dittrich to be! Will give you the review soon!

If you look at my review, you will see where we put the DJ. There was no problem or issues at all.

Turned out to be the most wonderful day! I woke up and enjoyed every part of it. The weather turned out great! Photos at Old Westbury Gardens were the most beautiful and we had our outdoor cocktail hour.

Everyone LOVED the Douglaston Manor. No other brides there. We had the place to ourselves it seemed. The upstairs bridal suites are so roomy. The grand ball room open and nice, so much food and the cocktail hour was roomy and wonderful too! The place looked beautiful. The staff was great! Loved our BM Chris. The food was delicious! I couldn't be happier with my choice of venue. My guests went on and on about the place!

Most everything went smoothly-above and beyond. Great night at the Garden City Hotel. I am pooped. We opened all our cards and gifts. Still have to pack for our honeymoon at Sandals Dunns River in Jamaica. Leaving Tuesday morning.

So, will write my review and put up pics when I get back.

You all will love your wedding at the DM!

Holy Cow! I got some amazing teaser shots from our photographer, Amanda Picone. She is really good and so easy going to have as a photographer, works hard too. I have to upload them for you guys when I get back. Leaving early so I must get to bed.

Congrats!!! I also went with the DM/Ariana Studios package, but mine didn't include an MC. I was told afterwards that I have to pay extra. How was I supposed to know that the DJ didn't include an MC. Also, what type of menu did you have? Gold or Silver??

Also wanted to share with you guys that I went to DM two weeks ago and noticed that they had gotten rid of the white plastic lawn chairs with these very modern black lawn chairs, that have a weave like pattern. Not sure if I'm describing the chair accurately, but trust me, they look sooooo much better than the white plastic chairs.
