I THINK I saw a pic Irene had on FB and she had the DJ set up similar to mine.
Here is a pic of mine it is right at the midway point.
That is EXACTLY where my DJ is set up. I would recommend that and stay in the front of the room with your guests to your right, left and ahead in the T room and the balcony above. They offered to seat me where that DJ was but I didn't like that spot.
Looking for a job and think I landed one. Waiting on the call but as soon as I can breath, will write more about the vendors and the honeymoon which btw, was great. Unfortunately, Sandals is not renewing their lease for Dunns River which I've heard is the prettiest one in Jamaica. I went to the Ocho Rios one and many people did not like it. Warning for sure!

OMGosh! Thank you soooooo much for voting. This photo translates to canvas as a painting so nicely. All the Old Westbury Garden photos do and would fit right in with a Thomas Kinkade painting. I don't see the point of converting a black and white photo of a wedding couple into a painting which is what that other bride, who is a close contender, has.
Anyhow, desperately seeking a job and cautious with money kinda feeling sorry for myself that I just got married and can't enjoy it cuz I am freaked out :) but def wanted this painting regardless so MANY thanks to you for helping.

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
Any brides who got married at DM...I was wondering what the maximum number of people you sat at the circular tables? We are working on the seating chart and have some tables of 12. Thomas said that 12 is fine but we just wanted to make sure that they wouldn't be too tight. Thanks, Tami

I had around 100 guests so I spread out the round tables and was able to put 8-9 at each table. So, can't tell you how 12 would fit but I think they have larger tables and some smaller tables. Sorry I can't help better.

I'll attach 2 pics from my wedding. Round tables with 8 people and photo from balcony before seating. Unless the table is bigger, I think 12 is crowded as you can see I have 8 place settings there.

AugustBride09- am I mistaken or are there different sized round tables? If not, 12 would be waaaay too many.
Any wise thoughts from the lady of nearly one year of marriage? :)

you can see them in this pic...there were 10 per table. I think the long tables might hold 12??? Maybe?

I'm almost positive that they have two different sized tables...one for 8, another than can hold 12. I'm pretty sure that's what Thomas said?

Make sure Thomas means the larger round tables hold 12 and not just the oblong ones which are different sizes. If the round only comes in one size, then 12 is too tight which you can see from AugustBride and my pics.

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
I think the DM has bigger round tables than the ones you see posted by the brides here. At least that's what I thought. I too am in the that dilemma as my headcount is about 165. I'd love to know how you worked it out....

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~
I went to the DM to visit before I was married and took a pic of people at the oblong tables as the Grand ballroom was packed all the way to the back of the T-room. The oblong tables fit more people in the place if you have over 100. Just not as easy for guests to chat like at a round table but not the biggest deal. Just make sure you don't choose the really thin, oblong tables. They look terrible in my opinion. They do have different sized oblong tables and perhaps different sized round ones so ask and go check them out. I'll post a pic of the thin oblong table that I thought looked terrible. I blocked out some faces. I hate to insult anyone's wedding and maybe it's just me. It looked too narrow to even hold the dinner plates and crowded.
