Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

I completely agree. Don't be worried about Anthony. Like I said, once he got comfortable he did a great job and I'm sure will be very settled by the time of your wedding.
Here is the link to some of the pictures that we just got.

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

I met Anthony in April when we booked our wedding at the DM - Chris is our BM, but Anthony was training with him and we all got to talking about different things. He is not new to the business, he has experience. He's just new with Douglaston, so I'm sure by the time its your wedding, all will be well ! Not to worry!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

I met Anthony when I dropped off my final payment. He came from woodbury country club so he is not new to the biz. He seems to be pretty cool and down to earth. I wouldn't mind have him or Chris there on my day.

Question: I was looking over my menu and I realized that I don't have a craving station for my cocktail hour. HUGE OVER SIGHT!! Do you think I should add it in? Do you think people will miss it?

LOL!!! CRAving station!! I meant CARving That is what happens when you are at work and posting in a hurry!!! LOL

Oh, you meant carving station! Thought I missed something at first called a craving station! Can't you add it? It's included.

I think a carving station is always very nice. Everyone luved my CH in particular. They said there was lots of food and it tasted great. Seemed like they all got seating. I've been to some recent weddings where I was standing and trying to eat, very annoying. The weather was nice so everyone was outside. Don't forget to look for your ice sculpture. I forgot and never saw it although I have pics. Everyone luved the outdoor CH and the backdrop of the trees and golf course.

Anyway, try to add it if you can since it comes with it-my opinion.

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

BTW, MrsMonty, are you getting real excited? Stressed? Your big day is almost here! Do you have most stuff done? I thought I did until the last week and wound up rushing around making my ceremony programs and tent cards for the guests/table signs. But, it was worth it. Deep breath!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

Yes, I think the carving station is included in the VIP package. There's probably so much food anyway, but if it is included and that is the package you got, you should look into it.

Does anyone have pictures of their cocktail hour? I'm curious as to how they set it up and if there is enough food?

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

Great pics! Congratulations ! Your gown is beautiful ! For the CH, did they set up inside too or have more than one section of chafing dishes? I'm so worried there might not be enough choices. Also, I absolutely love the design on your cake! I was looking into something similar!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

Thank you!!
The full CH was set up outside -- between the chafing dishes, hors d'ouvres, cold displays, and carving stations, your guests will be filled!

Re: ~OFFICIAL DOUGLASTON MANOR THREAD~

Those are great pics!

So we officially scheduled our tasting etc. at DM on October 3! So excited! We also scheduled the tasting at Cascon that afternoon too...yum!

So quick question for you girls...we got uplighting for the rooms at DM...my colors are black and white with hints of red. What color do you think i should do for uplighting? We were thinking either like an amber/gold or red (not sure if they have red) what do you think?
