Gold is nice but it may look more yellow than gold. They should have red- it's a common color. It will look great!

Thanks for the feedback!Can't believe how quickly time has flown by... 75 days and counting!!!!
I went for my first hair and makeup trial this weekend and I think i'm going to book! Went to Maximus salon in Westbury right near they Hyatt Place (literally right across the street) so I think it's going to work out perfectly! Yay for another check!
Other than that, invitations went out today... CHECK!
Finalizing our song list for After Hours...
Finalizing our shot list for J'Adore...
Then my first fitting!
Oh and the bridal / shower bachelorette party is coming up too! So much excitement... can't wait for November!

Anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of pics you can post in an album on this site? I wanted to post pics from my wedding but it got full and so there wasn't enough room for the shots of DM which I know you all would like to see.Maybe upload to a new album? Oy vey. I luv the photos so much I can't seem to leave out any to post!

I will post a full review of all my vendor when I get back home. But I just wanted to let all of the DM brides that there is nothing to worry about!!!! All of the staff was amazing!!! and the food, from what I tasted, was good!!!

Helloooo ladies.....sorry i havn''t been on or contributing to any posts. It has been very hectic being down to to the last couple of days. It has not been easy the last two weeks, my finace's father was just diagnosed with pancreatic caner. He just underwent a major surgery on friday and is doing ok. He most likely will not get out of the hospital in time for the wedding on Sunday. Just wanted to let everyone know, because I've appreciated every ones help on here and dont want anyone to think i've abanded LIW. I will do my best to post a review after wedding, and everyone say a prayer that were still going to go on our honeymoon. Hopefully he'll be doing well enough were my FH will be comfortable leaving the country.

Sending some prayers and good wishes your way. This is a tough one. Three weeks before my wedding, my mother was admitted to the hospital for congestive heart failure. They treated her and she came out feeling better than she had previously. What stress though. Wasn't sure I wanted to leave the country either for a honeymoon.
Maybe someone can video tape the wedding so he can see it afterwards to feel like he didn't miss it? Hang in there. There's a lot going on. Just think how lucky you are to have your FH in the first place and soon you will be his wife! :)

Stay strong!! Although I know it's tough-My fiance's mother died in April suddenly. We are getting married this Friday. Our ceremony will be very bittersweet. It's amazing what kinds of things come up to add to the stress. Prayers are with you <3 God will take care of you

Hi Douglaston Manor Brides.I booked with Douglaston for my April 2011 wedding. The place is beautiful. I went for my tasting yesterday and the food was excellent. My only concern now is that my guest list jumped to 170 and I am a little concern with the size of the room. I have the grandball room (t-shaped) and I was told that I have to use the oval tables which sits 12 guest. I find this hard to believe and I really don't want my guest on top of one another. For those of you brides that has/are getting marry there and have over 150 guest, what tables are you using, how many tables and how many guest per tables?
