Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Ooo.. Nina Doshi quoted my friend at $1200 for my engagement!! I was like W H A T?!?!?! She goes June is prime time for weddings so that's the rate..

You know my RH also said Tandoor is their preferred Caterer.. this other place we looked at before also said Tandoor.. but their food at the restaurant is ok, nothing to brag about but they do great job catering offsite.. go figure..

.I heard that Tandoor gives a lot of kickback to these sites.. meaning a bigger chunk of change to recommend Tandoor..

I not even going to ask about the manager at Tandoor..

I would suggest talking to Diwan.. they seem nice.. and their restaurant food is good.. and I've heard good things about their catering aswell... I'll find out this weekend how it really is.. I'm going to a wedding catered by them :)

Pedela sisters all the way!! They did my wedding and stayed the whole time for my outfit changes. Yes they were pricy but I think worth it.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

MrsV2be, I'm also having a hard time getting a good mehendi person. If you read through the entire post, the girls mention a few great salons. I called them and their prices are extreme. Some of them are charging $200-$300 just to do a simple design on my hands and feet and $5-$10 person thereafter. I had a few recommendations for some people in NJ who charge by the hour no matter how many people you have. But since you only have a few people, like I have, per hour doesn't really work.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I agree.. I spoke to this lady today.. and she goes.. up to where you wear your watch $120.. your feet up to your ankels will be $50..

here i'm thinking of getting mehendi done a little below my elbows..

Leena, did you like the person who did your mendhi?? Can you give me their info? I would rather use a mendhi person who somebody has used before. Thanks

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Thanks Leena, I really appreciate it!! Hopefully their cetering food is better than the restaurant food then. We'll still try them out but I'm still leaning towards the no side from the exoerience at my e-party there, you know.

But definately lemmie know how the mendhi comes out.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Hi Ladies, happy diwali!!

DH's cousin took some pics at my Mehendi party, and took some good pics of the actual mehendi... i think at the end of the night we paid 2 ladies $300 but thats because we had them there for like 4 hours and they were working non stop, i think they put mehendi on like 40 people, maybe more... here are some examples...

oh her email is [email protected]
