YES! When I had first gone to see Leonards, Antonio told us that the tip was included. We later booked with Maurizio (and have gone to him with our questions ever since), but we never discussed the maitr'd's tip.

Nor am I too worried about that since a tip is not required, but rather is up to us depending on how good his service is during the evening. I've heard that the usual rate is $3-$5 per person. Did he suggest more?

i believe maurizio said maitre'd tip was not included.. I think thats just the basic service charge.. i could be wrong but thats what i remember..

Is it
cost per person * 8.5 % (Tax) * 18% (Tip)
OR
cost per person * 18% (Tip) * 8.5% (Tax)

i just looked at my contract and it states
'price per person plus 18% service charge plus tax'

PS - tax in great neck is 8.625%

There was another thread today that explored this topic...most RH do this, and they're allowed to do this because it's not called 'tip' on paper, but rather it's called a 'service charge' which is legally taxable.

Yes, it's not fair, but Leonard's is by no means the only RH that does this.

Hey everyone, I got married at Leonard's. I know there is a lot of mystery behind the cake and I don't know why. The free cakes aren't the greatest but you can have your florist decorate the cake. Here is a pic of the free cake I selected. Its not the best pic but it gives you an idea.In the end I was glad I saved money on the cake.

Thanks for the photo! I agree that the free cakes aren't bad at all, and neither FH nor I are looking for anything really spectacular for our wedding cake...a cake like yours will suffice for us.

PS - you, your Dh and your cake look amazing in that photo! congrats!

I compiled a list of questions regarding decor, menu, time, place, tips, deliveries, vendors, extra costs, etc. Ian is very thorough when he does finalizing. He is going to get you to try to add on more options, but it is purely up to you. He will give you the new nenu and a floor plan for when you need to set up your guest tables. Sit down and think of all of the important questions that you need answered to assist you with having a wonderful day! Good luck!
