I'm another swannie who wanted to say hi!I saw earlier in this thread that there were concerns about the cake. Are there still issues with that?

Re: Swan Club Brides
Okay, here's some reviews.... Overall, everything was so perfect I can't believe it. I had SO many people tell me it was the most fun wedding they've ever been to, from the food to the music to the people they met. It was my perfect ideal wonderful day, and Im so thrilled everything went so smoothly!!Swan Club: A++++ They really truly did a wonderful job, as far as the planning process goes, I was very nervous about switching from Michael to Sandra as my contact, but it couldn't have gone better. Sandra was attentive and organized in the days before the wedding, and when we decided on something that she didn't agree with (like the table arrangement) she allowed us to do it anyway (and it worked out great the way we wanted it). Sandra had the tables set up EXACTLY how we had discussed (favors, etc)... although I did peek in quickly just to double check after the ceremony before the cocktail hour! On the day of the wedding, they moved things along without stress, and I was pretty much able to tune out on all of those little details during my day. I didn't eat the night of the wedding (such a cliche, but I was pretty busy having fun...) but the food was apparently AMAZING. We had so much food at the Cocktail hour that some people got too full for dinner! The seafood boat was a BIG hit, so if anyone is considering that, it's well worth the money. For those of you getting married around this time of the year, the tulips have never been prettier... it almost made our own flowers pointless. I have friends from California who now want to get married at the Swan Club!
Flowers: Pedestals: A : This was a recommended vendor by the swan club, which was nice because they knew the ins and outs of the rooms, etc. I did very simple centerpieces and other than that just had boutoneires and my and my sister's bouquets. My sister's bouquet was beautiful, mine was pretty but HUGE ( like the size of a basketball) and way too heavy. I couldn't wait to put it down. We didn't focus on flowers, and they gave us a very reasonable price for the little that they did. The delivered everything on time and everything was well labeled, which was nice (I've been in weddings where you can't figure out which flowers belong to who, and that can be an added stress the day of the wedding).
Photography: Glenmar Studio: A : Also a recommended vendor of the Swan Club, which again was great since the photographer (Tom) knew all the great spots to take photos (not that it's hard to figure out, I mean, the place is amazing pretty much everywhere you look... I haven't seen the photos yet, so it's hard to review them, but he was there on time, was ALL OVER taking photos all night, and stayed very late, also all for a very reasonable price. Ill post more when I get my proofs back with a more complete review of the photos.
Music: L&S Entertainment: A++++ CEREMONY MUSIC and COCKTAIL HOUR: Jerry, Joe, one other person... DJ: Mike D. I couldn't have been more pleased with the music, which was wonderful, since our priorities were great food, open bar, and great music. The ceremony music was pretty and simple (just guitar and piano) and they were basically able to play whatever we requested for the ceremony. The band for the Cocktail Hour (Jazz Band) was SO good, the music was fun, mellow, and set the mood for the whole night. The DJ was absolutely great. We were looking for a DJ that didn't MC much but kept everything flowing and very well organized. Mike did EXACTLY that... he announced when important things were going to happen (ie 'now please take a seat for dinner orders'), and ran the entire night moment for moment as I requested (ie when our first song was, when the Hora would be, when we would cut the cake...). The music was GREAT. We gave him a long list of songs we would love to hear at a wedding, and also a short absolutely do not play list. He took our Play list and played lots of the songs on it, as well as using it to figure out other music we might like (for example, we had lots of 80's and 90's hip hop and rap, but never mentioned the Beastie Boys, and he played them and everyone LOVED it... including me!). I've gotten tons of compliments on teh music, and the dance floor was PACKED the whole night, so if that's what your looking for, this guy is for you.
Transportation: Deluxe Transportation (in Port Washington). B+: No problems with the limos, we had some minor problems with cabs getting to and from the hotels and the Swan Club (apparently they sent some vans to the hotel in Great Neck where my friends were staying but then left with the vans only partly full). We didn't do formal transportation because we didn't know if our guests were going to leave, and that was still probably the right decision, but our guests were a little stressed about getting there on time.
Rehearsal Dinner; Louie's Oyster Bar Port Washington: A+++ We had a very informal place for our friends to go the night before the wedding... no booked room or anything, but they were great and roped off a portion of the patio for us, and had staff waiting on us very attentively all night even though we hadn't done a 'price per head' type deal. It worked out great, and Elena (the contact person) is very nice and attentive.
I think that's all for now, Im going to add more pics and put another post of some things I was really glad we did (ideas, etc). Feel free to post if you have any questions about anything!

Thanks Cheryl! I had my brother pick up my aisle runner yesterday because I'm going to personalize it and she made sure that he got it. We'll see. Hopefully, it will all work outI just feel that when you make a connection with a vendor they look out for you more rather than a stranger for which your just 'another' bride. Thanks again!
Hey another newbie to the boards also getting married at the Swan Club!! Just wondering, If you have the ceremony there and they provide the aisle runner....you can pick it up and personalize it yourself??? Is it paper or material?? TIA

I picked up the aisle runner and have not yet tried to personalize it. The material on the aisle runner is plastic. I don't know how its going to turn out. I might not do it.

Okay, final review, I just picked up my photos from Glenmar and they are FABULOUS. I definately give them an A. There are so so so many pictures to choose from, plenty of standard posed pics but lots and lots of great candids. Tom did a wonderful job of capturing my day, and I was thrilled with the way they came out!

Re: Swan Club Brides
The proofs aren't online, I just picked them up. I can promise you they did GREAT. Tom was my photographer... he was a little odd during the posed shoots , but his photos were great, and exactly what I wanted (a few good posed pics, lots of great candids). He stayed out of the way during the ceremoney and reception to the point that I didn't even notice he was around, but he stayed REALLY late (like got to the Swan Club a t 4:00 and stayed until 1:00am or so). Really, I think for the price glenmar is a great option. Good luck!
