Did they put the flowers on your cake? I like it! Also for the chair covers, did you get to choose what color the sash/bow is?

Well when I talked to LaBlossom I told her I wanted only four votives at each table, but that I would supply them to her, but if they have them they I don't need to buy them.. are they really small? I still may buy them just because I would like to have frosted glass ones but if I can save the money I just might do that..

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I still need my photographer/videographer, florist, & limo. I haven't booked my DJ yet, but I think it's a shoe in. I loved them and their price! I asked before for any recommendations for a good photographer/videographer and nobody responded
Also, what are you guys giving out for gifts?

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
We are using a family friend to do our photography - all of my friends that have gotten married recently have used Proline and their pics came out phenomenal!!!I am not sure what we are doing about favors yet - i am Jewish and my fiance is not. At Jewish weddings, TYPICALLY, favors are not given out so we have not decided what we are doing yet.
What about you??

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I was thinking of having break-a-way vases (you put about 4 vases together to make one centerpiece, then untie a ribbon and everyone gets to take one home) as favors. People usually end up wanting to take the centerpiece home and I don't want anyone to leave empty handed. I also liked the idea of planting a flower in our memory :) Since the Swan club is filled with flowers. I loved djpill's M&M's. I might do that but put them in white swan holders. When I first saw the lucky in love lotto tickets, I thought, 'How fun!' But then I realized that if you don't win you end up throwing it away and it ceases its purpose. I'm Latina and tradition is that everyone leaves with something to remember your day by.

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
Ladies, I am sooo mad. I can't believe that the Swan club recommends the vendors that they do. Their DJ is over priced and cocky as hell and their florist is overpriced and wack!!!! Where are the deals???? I am so dissapointed with their vendors. Am I the only one??? I've been quoted 500 more for their dj and 1000 more at their florist. What's up with that???

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
Mel,That's why it's good you have LIW, I too was turned off by some of their vendors, the only vendor I am using recommended by them is Glenmar Studios, and I basically went in to the meeting with them saying we can only spend $2000, what can you give me for that, and I basically got all that I wanted.
I am pretty sure I am using Vinny from High Voltage if FH ever gets it together so we can go meet with him, Vinny's prices start at $700.
For Flowers I went with LaBlossom, I didn't meet with any other florists, I saw her work and just knew she was the one for us, I am spending about $1850 and I am getting all the flowers for the bridal party, our parents, grandparents and reader's, flowers, aisle runner and all white BQ for the Virgin Mary at the church, 12 CP's and flowers for the cake, I know I'm missing something but there was a thread a looooong time ago where everyone was comparing prices and packages and mine seemed to fall right in the middle.
There are some girls who went with other vendors who are spending even less than me, so don't be discouraged! and if you need any help let me know I have alot of information saved.

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
On Favors, we are still undecided as well.. FH wants some time of glass votive thing with our names printed on it.. I hate the idea just because it reminds me of prom favors..lolI'd like to have a CD favor, I even picked out all the songs already, I think I'll have to make a mock up of one so he will see just how cute it will be lol
I already have all my BM's gifts, I got them a bunch of stuff from Lillian Vernon, a bag, a keychain, something else I am totally blanking on at this moment, I have everything stored away in my hope chest..lol I also bought them silver ID braclets from Zales. For my sister the MOH, we are buying her a sapphire ring she has always wanted but I am waiting for it to go on sale again in Macy's..
For the GM's, this is FH's project and he is MR. Last minute so I don't know what he will choose, he liked a few things we saw at Things Remembered, so I am sure it will be something like a flask or golf set, or for my brother I suggested the cigar set and he liked that idea.
Most of my wedding plans are very traditional the only traditional thing I am not doing is a bridal shower, I asked my girls to use that money towards my bachorlette weekend (South Beach here we come!!!)
Depending on how money is going, I'd also like to treat my girls to a mini-spa day, mani's and pedi's the day before the wedding.

Pookie
, I love your hair and make-up! Oksana told me she has a 3 person minimum, so I don't think I'm going to go with her. My brother's girlfriend who is going to be a bridesmaid does make-up, so I'm going to ask her to do the make-up for the bridesmaids. On another note, thanks for the encouragement! I think I'm going to celebrate the day I get my photographer/videographer and florist out of the way! Question: Does the Swan club allow florists to decorate their arch or does the florist have to rent one out???

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
Im getting married in the Garden Room with the ceremony in the room that is covered with windows... not sure what it is called. I ended up going with Glenmar for the same reason, the price was TOOOOO good. I'm hoping I get a contract at some point between then and now. What room are you getting married in?

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
Has anyone chosen a DJ they love? I really REALLY want a DJ that's not super cheesy... no light shows or give aways, just GOOD music and someone who can MC without being intrusive. Im not from long island so don't know anyone who I can get advice from. Thanks!

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I actually used Mike D. from L&S Entertainment (a Swan Club vendor) and he did a fantastic job for our wedding, and their prices were some of the lowest I was quoted (only the Pros quoted me a lower price.) They do have 2 DJ vendors, the other one I did contact and they were WAAAAYYY more than L&S. Give them a call, they do have showcases at the Swan Club.I can't speak for the other DJs, but like I said, Mike D. (there is another Mike, ask specifically for Mike D.) did a great job. We went with a very basic package, just a DJ, no lights, no giveaways and he did everything as we asked him to. I would absolutely book him again.
I used my local florist, not a typical 'wedding florist.' I would recommend looking into that, since some of the wedding florists are looking to sell you a package deal, instead of pricing things individually. We did very inexpensive centerpieces ourselves and just got the bouquets and a few other things from the florist.

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I only went to two dj's. One of them was a swan club vendor and boy was I dissapointed!!!! While I was sitting there he started complaining about a bride who gave him too many songs to play. He then said that the songs she choose where corny and would not get the people in her wedding to dance.
If this is how he treats his customers then I don't want need them to DJ my party. FM me if you want to know which one it was. Plus he quoted me 500 more dollars for the exact same things my DJ is giving me. My DJ & MC might not be for you because they are high energy and specialize in bi-lingual weddings. They do give you forms to fill out and one of the form asks you how you would like their performance to be and one of the options is low key with very little talking. Anyone interested can FM me. Good luck with find the right DJ. Welcome New Vendors
