Exactly how I feel! I hate the gold rims, the cutouts and carvings that a lot of the lenox stuff has. That's why I was shocked when I found this china - it has none of that.

I am not married yet, but I checked my BBB registry and noticed that someone added a crockpot. I do not cook using crock pots!!! I have things that are on the registry and the person was in the store, why didn't they stick to what I asked for. I also have a very small kitchen and there is nowhere to put a crock pot.

lol...dkga1026- I am just laughing at her arriving at your house with baskets of lenox....how horrible.

I like plain lenox (my china is similar to yours - simple but elegant) but could not deal with a basket full of designed, gold rimmed, cut out bowls and vases..yikes!

Crisco, the funny thing I never get is when people go and they see the list and they choose to be daring and get something NOT on the list. OF all the choices you had, you choose to go out of your way to get me something I do not want and will not use. That I find to be wasteful

Demetra, that is a nice set. Don't tell your MIL of anymore gift giving events she will bring the rest of the goodies. Hey you can always have a yard sale

I got three - yes three sets of toasting glasses and all of them had our name and wedding date engraved on them. We had to use one set for the rehearsal dinner, a second set in the rolls royce to toast with and the third set at the reception.

Crisco...How could someone add something to your registry??? Does BBB just add it if they bought something that was NOT on the list.

What the lady did was purchase something and added it, to say, I wanted her to know I was bold enough to pick something she forgot I don't think adding to someone's registry should be allowed.

I didn't think someone else could add to your registry.

But BBB might have done it so you could return it without any problems later. They have that no questions asked return policy for bridal registries.

I know Crate & Barrel will add things to your registry. I had things added to mine. One was a gift my mom bought for my brother's new apartment. My mom ordered stuff from my registry and something for my brother in the same order and they added his stuff to my registry. I was all excited .. thought I was getting a wine rack too. My friend bought my gift late and there was nothing left on my registry so she picked something (it was nice) and they added it on. I was glad they did because out of nowhere I decided to check my registry and found it there..I never rec'd it though. I called and it was returned to them because it was delivered when I wasn't home (on my honeymoon).

They said they do that in case people go off the registry they won't duplicate....who knows???

I can't wait till next weekend...I think it's my shower (3/1)...like I said I THINK & I am almost more excited to see if I get anything like in this post!

I'd be so if someone added something to my registry! I see the point that it's easier to return, but if you wanted it from the store you registered, wouldn't you have already added it yourself?! Oh well - I guess some people like to be a little different and more creative with their gift purchases

It would annoy me too if someone added something to my registry but if like Niecy said it's so no one else will get the same thing then I guess that's better then getting two of something you didn't really want in the first place.
