Here you have 2 lovely....ummmm I don't know what you call them. I do not know who gave them to me because they were wrapped & in my wishing well.

What are these and what do you do with them?!?!?

at least they're cute! Not sure when you would use them though - I guess as a serving dish when entertaining?

I think they are serving dishes for hot dishes.. only because they come with the wicker baskets..

the wicker baskets can come in handy for chip dishes..

They do look like pie dishes Diane! The way they are decorated though I think they should be displayed and if that is the case, that color/style isn't everyone's taste!

Come on Jenn, let me see the glasses, do they beat out my lovely toasting glasses??

you don't remember my post about the $1 off coupon?! Long story short, a relative of DH's gave us our wedding envelope on our wedding night. We were very curious to see what was inside, since it was kind of bumpy

Well, later that night, we opened up the envelopes, and aside from some cash, this woman put in a few breath mints for us, along with a $1 off coupon to a supermarket!!!! It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen

I've got a new one for the list - Al's friend went to China soon after our wedding and we just received his gift today.

Its a chinese scroll (4 feet long!) with a landscape waterfall b&w drawing on it and then up in the corner a small black and red ying-yang, the symbol for double happiness and our names (at least he said its our names, -its in chinese).

Anyway, I appreciate the thought and sentiment behind it (happiness always with us intertwined) but its HUGE.

Where would I hang this thing?

lisa...I don't know what yours looks like, but I have to say that after spending a month in China that I became fascinated with Chinese art...especially since we had a class taught by the most famous Chinese calligraphers and his work hung in the SF museum of art...

but maybe Al's friend also became fascinated by the mystery and beauty of Chinese landscapes and calligraphy...and didn't know what yours would look like when it was being made?

its entirely possible, and I know his friend is really into this stuff (he studied accupuncture in China for a few months).

Its really not ugly, just not my style.
Its just SO BIG!
