Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
I've also been toLarkfield manor-My mom got married there Sept 2004-I've seen it redone and yes it's much nicer-the only complaint was that we took pics-mostly elsewhere. There are no great spots to take pics-so I would recommend taking pics somewhere else before the ceremony. Other than that the food was great, the staff was excellent, the place was clean and comfortable-We had a great time!
Timberpoint CC-Very pretty, reasonably priced, the dance floor was awkwardly placed. I felt bad for the people sitting in the back of the room-it was hard to see what was going on up front, food was great, and the same-the staff was excellent.
Harbor club-Everything went very nicely with the exception that we could barely see anything.-It was the darkest wedding I have ever been to. We asked them to turn up the lights several times-and they said they would and never did? Why-we still don't know. Other than that everything was great.
Chateau le mer-Very nice-they served my 13 year old cousin drinks-which my ffamily doesn't really care-it's a wedding and she's not drinking-but someone else may care. The food was great and the boat entrance was amazing.
Hope this helps girls. Any more views on the Woodlands?

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
We went to a wedding at the Crest Hollow on 7/2There is a lot going on at CH...reminds me of a hotel kind of. There were about 3 other weddings going on at the same time and one was a very large wedding...probably about 1,000 people. I did walk into the wrong wedding twice only because that room looked exactly like ours. However, we never saw another bride once.
The food was good. My FI and I both had Filet Mignon which was good and cooked like we asked. I must say the Vieniennese Hour was spectacular....they had a sparklers at the tables and wonderful desserts and an international coffee station/cordial bar.
One complaint is that the service was a tad slow....our server did not collect glasses and bottles until the end of the night when they were cleaning up....and I didn't get coffee when it was served. CH brides you may want to ask about this.
All in all...we had a great time....and the view of the pool is nice

Lombardi's on the Sound...I chaperoned a prom there 5/06 on a Friday night and thought it was strange that there was a sweet sixteen above. From the outside decks the two parties were able to talk to each other and take picture. I guess it was okay for a prom, I just hope they don't do that for weddings.
The room was really nice, the cocktail hour was gorgeous outside over looking the sound. The food was okay (remember, the prom menu is definitely not the same as a wedding menu).
The bathrooms were really nice.
The dance floor was quite large.
Tall Grass Country Club...
My brother's wedding 8/05 (Saturday night). It was really nice. He had a smaller wedding (about 110 people). The cocktail hour was amazing. He messed up his invitations and ended up having to pay extra and extend the cocktail hour to 1.5 hours, but it was definitely worth it. There was time to do picture and enjoy the party. The bridal attendant was outstanding. She attended to the entire bridal party. They even accomodated the bridal party about an hour or so before the cocktail hour began. Everybody had a great time.

i went to a very unique wedding on monday july 3rd at crest hollow.
the ceremony was a very unique ceremony on the beach in long beach! there were chairs and an aisle set up right on the beach, and all of the locals on the beach and boardwalk were watching and cheering. it was SO cute!! although it was like 90 degrees and sunny and humid so there were A LOT of people on the beach.
the reception was at crest hollow. CH food was great. i love the atmosphere around the pool and its too bad they cant have the whole reception there cause its so gorgeous and ambiant.
im not sure what room the reception was in, but it wasnt huge although it was well sized for the amount of people there ( i think about 180-200).
food at reception was good. interesting thing was that they only had a salad then main course and viennese. no appetizer in the middle. i thought that was kind of weak but in the long run youre already full so it doesnt matter all that much. it just seems like a rather long wait between salad and entree since salad is already on the table when you walk in. the entrees werent spectacular, the choices were between chicken, salmon, and prime rib. i had the chicken which was good. fried white meat breast with some bruschetta-like topping. tasty but not amazing. viennese was nice with a banana flambe station, cakes, ice cream bar, cannolis, zeppolis and what not.
as far as service, our waiter was really young, but he did a good enough job. service not spectacular, but nothing really to complain about. they dont go above and beyond, but by no means are they rude or innadequate either. basically you get what you pay for at $55 a person lol. but no complaints at all on that end.
actually my only complaint about crest hollow is that because there are so many affairs at one time, you can hear them all. for example, when the MOH was giving her toast you heard thumping in the background coming from the DJ in the room next door...basically if you are a bride thats worried about running into another bride in the bathroom..Crest Hollow IS NOT the place for you..but other than that there were really no complaints.
i was on the grooms side but i wouldnt be surprised if that bride is a LIW gal. it was so cute, since they got married on the beach they did a whole turquoise and khaki beach theme. it looked great! all little touches like the camera scavenger hunt, sand dollar place cards, even a faux palm trees. really cute overall.
when i was about 16 i visited crest hollow for a conference. always thought id get married there cause i love the ambiance around the pool. luckily i found that somewhere else cause i am NOT a 6 weddings at a time bride. but if you dont mind that, and you dont have a huge amount of $$ to spend per person, DEFINITELY check it out.
I'm sorry but your comments were out of line-first of all-thers plenty of CH brides here. I'M offended by your comments-and im not getting married there, although CH was my 2nd choice.

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
What a great idea!!!The only wedding I have been at recently was my MOH and it was in April. It was the day before Easter, so it was a little rough the next morning, but that wasn't the halls fault.
It was out at EastWinds, in the cottage not in the big room in the hotel.
The food was amazing!
The service was amazing!
The bridal suite opened up to the courtyard connecting us to the cocktail hour which was really nice!
The only problem we had were the rooms. They had gotten a book of rooms and told them who each one was for specifically so we would be able to stay. Unfortunetly though when other guests called and told the desk that they were there for the wedding they got some of our rooms!
Of course then a few cancelled and those rooms went back to the general pool. The only problem with this was there was a 500 person wedding going on in the big room the same night and they snatched up the rooms that were supposed to be reserved for us!!
Therefore when FH and I went to book our room a month before we were told they were booked solid. When I explained to them my name was on the list for the wedding and that a room was set aside for us, they explained that they gave it away to someone else by mistake and they cancelled so the other wedding got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was furious so was the bride. They were promised any unused rooms wouldn't go back until the week before the wedding and came to find out that the majority of the bridal party had no rooms due the RH screwing up!!!!!

Other than that it was a great wedding! We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express a few miles down the road, it wasn't too bad except for I was getting
and had to drive. So the moral of this story is they might have been a bit of
so if you can afford to pay for the rooms and have the bridal party give you the money. Any unused rooms the week before cancel and get you money back, or just leave a deposit for them.

Uh-oh, my daughter's wedding is at Lombardi's on the Sound next June. They SWORE to us that if there happens to be a party upstairs, they can not see the downstairs deck from theirs and that 'there has never been a problem'.
We will have to go over this with them again. Thanks for the heads-up!

This is MY SISTER's wedding you're talking about! I was the MOH... and I can tell you that she did NOT pay $55 a head... so I don't know what you're referring to in that you get what you pay for.I think you should check your facts before you post stuff like this.
The brides would not run into each other in the bathrooms... that is what the bridal suite is for.
Good for you!!! I am glad I was not the only one who took offense to this comment!!! I never post comments like this normally but woodstock 529's post was very rude!
Thank you! People need to check their facts before they post... I didn't take offense to anything else except for the fact that this person said 'You get what you pay for.' It was just rude and I am sure my sister will not be happy to hear this.

i dont think she said anything rude. shes being honest. you're going to hear things you dont wanna hear about your hall but she's not being rude. and ch is cheap per person so by her saying you get what you pay for, i think its correct. they quoted me 60 per person. i dont see why everyone's making such a big deal

What I am angry at is what she is saying my sister paid for her wedding. She most certainly did not pay $55 per person. Just because they quoted you $60 doesn't mean that is what she paid. She could have said everything else except that she paid $55 per person and you get what you pay for and I would not have been insulted. These are her thoughts. However to come on here and post incorrect info and then insinuate that my sister's wedding was cheap is just wrong.

These reviews should be based on your feelings of food, atmosphere, etc. Do not guess or attempt to guess what a bride paid. Not only is it none of your business, but it is rude and generally this 'guessing' is wrong and not needed.Edit: also, it depends on when someone books. In my case, I booked in 2003. I am sure someone who books my hall now is paying a lot more. This does not make me cheap...you get the idea

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
My sister got married at Crest Hollow in 2002, I got married there this past November.1. Yes, there were other weddings going on at the same time... I never once saw another bride, and never heard any other parties going on in the other room (we were in the large ballroom upstaris...300 guests)
2. I certainly DID NOT pay $55 a head So to say you get what you paid for is is not accurate. Even the person who was quoted $60 a head, that may have been what you were quoted, and I'm sure they have a wide price range.
I was recently at a wedding where it was obvious the wedding cost well over 6 figures..... we were NOT at all impressed with the food or the service. So at $200+ a head.. you certainly can't say 'you get what you paid for'

Exactly...whether you pay $60 pp or $160 that doesnt make a wedding 'cheap' Everyone is intitled to their opinion, but that was wrong to say esp when you dont know how much someone is paying.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on how they thought food, service, etc was at a wedding. But it's snide and rude to comment or guess on what people paid and relate it to things that YOU didn't like about the wedding. You must have dog hearing - no one else heard music from another room during Hollie's speech.
I hope everyone at your wedding isn't so snide, picky and jealous.
I hope the groom realizes with friends like you...
