Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
I found out that my wedding is one of 4 happening that day! Maybe I should call Fox Hollow and ask if the bar is available!

Hey I am a Fox Hollow Bride too. I was just thinking when someone was going to initiate a thread for us. I am so glad that it's finally up.
I thought about staying at the Inn the night of my wedding and having my guest stay there as well. But it is quite pricy and I am not too thrilled abou the Bridal Suite. I was hoping for something a bit more fancy or bridal, if you will.

I agree, it's not the most 'bridalesque' of brida suites, but as I said before, I'm just happy to be staying so close to the hall!

Hmm...let me think.....Okay, have you given any thought to your menu selections yet? I have looked at my packet of menu stuff so many times, but I still don't know what to pick for entrees, salad, appetizers.....

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
That's a good one - I can always talk about food!I made the mistake of giving the menu to FMIL and asked for her opinions...she pretty much picked out everything I was planning NOT to have!
All I really know is that we're probably going to add the sushi tray for the cocktail hour because my dad is obsessed with sushi and he'll be pleased we thought of him.
I've heard that other places offer a margarita or dacquiri bar for cocktail hour - I might look into that. I don't know if Fox Hollow does something like that. But a cold refreshing dacquiri on a warm September day might just be heaven!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
My mom tried to do the same thing when I showed her the choices. Everytime I told her I wanted to choose a certain item, she told me I have to remember that the food is for the guests, and the guests might not like what I'm choosing....trying to steer me towards all the traditional and boring things - Salmon, Chicken Francese, etc. I want to pick something more exotic. I think the only thing I'm sure of is that I want the Filet Mignon for the Meat choice. Also, still trying to decide on stuff for the Cocktail hour. Sushi sounds great, but I'm not sure if I'm going to do it.Another food related question..... which of the desserts do you think you're going to pick? I think I'd like to do Peach Melba, but I'm not sure if everyone will like it.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Do you remember what the other dessert choices are? I can't remember them off the top of my head.I like peach melba, though, and I think most people do too. So that's a good choice.
I hear you about exotic. I think we'll throw in some funky stuff for cocktail hour - so much of the items on the menu I have never eaten or even heard of, so I want to experiment a little! Unfortunately, your mom is kind of right about doing what your guests will like - of course you want everyone to love their choice, but then again you'll go nuts if you try to please everyone!!
We are doing the filet too. I am a little worried because there are a couple of cattle ranchers in FH's family, and if the meat is too well done or dry or whatever, we'll hear about it. (I should take my own advice and realize that you can't please everyone!)

I am clueless when it comes to food
I am a very picky eater and because of that have a very limited knowledge
of food.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Other than the Peach Melba, I think there's a Viennetta and a Chocolate Mousse Cup. They all sound sooo good, and I have a feeling people would prefer something chocolate-y instead of Peach Melba, but I still want it!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Oh no, they all sound delicious!!I am all for chocolate - in fact, our cake will have chocolate icing with chocolate filling, and I think our favors might be chocolate. So maybe peach melba is the way to go. As much as I don't want to admit it, people can't eat chocolate all the time. People need fruit!
I would love to do chocolate-covered fruit (best of both worlds!!) but I don't think it's one of the options.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Do you guys know when we should be going in to pick the menu, linens, cake, etc? Also, we decided to stay at the Inn next door mostly for convenience. We're not getting a limo so the cost pretty much washes out. I've heard mixed reviews about the inn but hopefully those of us staying there will have a great stay.
Anyone here getting married at the Fox Hollow? If so who are you using as your officiant? That is one of the last things we haven't done.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
Are you getting the Vienesse or mini-Vienesse? Maybe there's some chocolate covered fruit in there.I'm probably doing a chocolate favor too! I am thinking 2 chocolate truffles in a silver box with our names and the date....
