bump.

Any Westbury Brides out there who can tell me how's the recommended house officiant? I believe they cost $350 to perform the ceremony. Thanks!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I LOVE Jennifer the WM Banquest manager. She is so sweet and takes her time with you. She doesn't mind a milllion (okay I don't actually call that much) phone calls. I once had a question about what could be thrown at us outside cause of the birds and she said I don't know I'll call you back and 5 minutes later she did!!! I was expecting the next day or something at least.Love her!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hi,
We are having our ceremony there and when we discussed it with Mel (our BM), he told us that they don't pick the officiant but they do give you a phone number for a vendor who will help you choose one from their list.
Ultimately we decided to go out and find our own.
I hope that helps.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Has anyone had Lorena as a BM?
We were supposed to have Raul and we found out last night that it got changed on us. We had met Raul and liked him, we have never met Lorena. I am sure she is great, but was just wondering if any past brides had her. Thanks for any feedback!

FIrst you will choose your linens and chair covers. I think the options are ivory gold and burgundy. I picked ivory with burgundy sashes and napkins.

Then they ask for your vendor information to add it to the contract and they will ask you which vendors you want to feed. They also ask for an approximate head count including children you want to feed. (Kids under 4 do not have to have a meal.)

After that, you chose the menu - really, you are just chosing the hot stations, the carving stations and the pasta for the cocktail hour. Next you chose the appetizer and salad for the reception. Then you chose the dessert (other than cake) and the actual cake. You will get a list of frostings, cakes, and fillings. (are you getting your cake through WM?) You als chose the cake shape.

Basically that is it. You will get lots of papers from them to fill out and return the week of your wedding (alphabetical list of guests, setting plans, vendor contact info, boxes you will drop off before the wedding). You'll get lots of nitty gritty info about the day of stuff (placecards, lining up for entrances, time you should arrive, etc.) It is a lot of information, but I think all of it was written on the paper work that you get. At the end you will make an appointment to come back to meet with your Maitre D' and drop off final payment and your wedding stuff.

I hope that helps

Can someone please remind me if there is any decoration for a ceremony at the WM. Everyone is asking me and I embarssingly don't remember. There's nothing on my contract but is there any decoration at all included? thanks!

ps- I know I can call and probably will..but I call them a lot!

Decorations should be part of the ceremony set-up fee. I don't know exactly what flowers are used but I figured I would discuss that with my BM closer to the day.

You're correct! The flowers/decorations are included in your ceremony fee. The flowers used are used for all the ceremonies that weekend, so you really don't have a choice in flowers, colors, etc. They stick with white, using lilies, etc.
Here's some pics from our outdoor ceremony to help give you an idea....
Don't forget too...if you're also blessed with nice weather and can have the ceremony outside the flowers, etc that are normally planted in the chapel garden with be there too! If it ends up being an indoor ceremony, you will have all the same beautiful white flower arrangements. Bobby does BEAUTIFUL work!

wow, thank you for posting these pics! I somehow just saw this. I had no idea so many flowers were included..they are beautiful!! I will have to show this to our florist

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I have to apologize to all the WBM brides.

I had my wedding there on November 5, 2005. It was absolutely wonderful.

I have been very bad...I haven't even did a review or posted any pictures, or spoke about my experience that may help other brides to be.

My family is still talking about my wedding there. We just had my cousin's wedding last weekend in NYC. I couldn't get over how forward my family was to say that my wedding far exceeded my cousin's wedding.

I will post a review. Be patient with me as I have a new role as 'Wife' to fill.
