really should do a review, but I've been hesitant because I'm not giving rave reviews like everyone else. I had one other issue, but once again, it was with this particular Maitre'd.
Of course you should do a review ... do you think we all actually believe each person and each reception hall is perfect? That's why I was asking questions yesterday. I want to learn what I can do to make sure we get the best service and the best day laid out. I want to be prepared ... please do a review!

Hi Girls!Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I came back from the honeymoon and work is super busy right now. I promise to do my review this weekend.
I did use chair covers. I got them from The Finishing Touch. They were a little expensive, but I searched everywhere online and in stores and that was really the best price for set-up and removal of the chairs. Plus, they didn't charge for 'ruined' covers meaning someone spills a drink on it or something. So I went with them. I would keep calling the Westbury Manor though. They changed/updated alot of things in the Manor Room - I find it hard to believe they wouldn't do something about those chairs.
The Finishing Touch also has the linens the Westbury Manor uses so you can see how certain covers would look. I chose the ivory linens with a striped overlay and then an ivory satin cover with a bow sash.
As far as the ice sculpture I also used the vase with fresh flowers. I had seen it in a book when I when there two years ago to book the place and I loved it. I think they have a book to show you of pictures, but if you see something you like just bring in a pic. Maybe they can recreate it. I think I have a pic at home that I will try to post later.
I am sorry I haven't had a chance to write a review yet, but in the meantime ask any questions and I will try to answer!

Babybride - the room looks gorgeous!! How did you end up displaying the menu cards? I see they are propped up but was wondering what you used to have them stand up?

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Quick Question:Is anybody upgrading to the seven course menu? We were able to work something out with the westbury and have the choice to upgrade the menu. But I'm wondering if the quality of the choices are the same (ex. the chateaubriand is not an option with the seven course meal as it was with the four seasons menu). Do you think it would be sacrifiying a bit of quality for more quantity? TIA!

I did and it was a hit. The quality was not compromised and people are still raving about the stuffed shrimp, lamb, duck, etc......Go for it!

we had the option and decided against it. I didn't like the choices and 2 bucks extra kinda adds up when you have over 200 people coming.

Our ice sculpture was a shamrock. They did a good job on it, we never looked over any book we just told them what we wanted.

Thanks! I loved the way the room looked. I specifically asked to have the menu cards propped up since there was a laser cut-out on the top and I thought it would look nice standing up. I wrote in on my long list of things I wanted done that I gave to the WM. They followed it all! What they ended up doing is placing they between the champagne and either water or wine glass. So the menu was tilted into each place setting. I looked really nice.
As far as the upgrade, we didn't go for it. I honestly didn't see much on there that I thought people might like that wasn't on the Four Seasons menu. I was able to get the Pollo Verdi from the seven chioce menu as part of my four seasons menu I picked so I was satisfied with the choices we got. It's not that expensive to upgrade from what I remember just look at the choices and see if your guests would like those menu selections more.

We had the service charge taxed.I can't remember how long we were at our appointment for but just be prepared to pick your menu and add-ons, linens, ice sculpture, cake design and what type of cake and if you want flowers on it. We also got asked what items we would be bringing to the hall (i.e.-cake knife, toasting flutes) and what type of favors we're giving and how to hand them out.
Hope that helped.

Thanks it does! I have a good idea about menu, not too sure of the cake design yet- how is their selection?

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I can't remember how many designs they had since I picked the cake out in November. I ended up with the basket weave design with the pillars between the tiers with the flowers provided by WM. We chose canolli and chocolate filling, yellow cake, and whip cream frosting. Unfortunately I only had 1 bite of the cake, but it tasted good from the one sample. Everyone thought the cake looked amazing. I was nervous about the flowers on it, but it turned out great. I'll try to find a picture and post it.
