I LOVE TIMEPIECE. My FH and I booked them after hearing them 4 times. I saw other bands, but deep inside I knew they were the right band for us. They have a lot of engergy, but they are classy. Good Luck!

How is that band Timepiece?
I heard they were one of the bests!
I'm checking them out on Wednesday.
So much to do...
What photographers have you see that you liked too?
thanks!
ps: NEW TO THIS BOARD! HIYA!
Hi and Welcome !
FH and I looked at several photographers and decieded on Proline (they are on the recommended list) We felt most comfortable with them and they were very nice and professional and not pushy at all. They really work with you on everything. :)

Has anyone had any complaints about WM? So far things have been great for me. :)

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I'm really excited for the future October wedding!
A lot of my free time right now has been dedicated to interviewing photographers and seeing bands. I want finish booking these two things by the end of the month so then I can start planning the engagement part and looking for a dress. Seems chronologically OK to you?
I looked at 15 banquet places before choosing WM. It just hit me. I'm hoping everything else just hits me. I also recommend to other brides looking checking out Crest Hollow, Villa Lombardi's, Milleridge Cottage, Marina del Rey, Carlyle on the Green, Fox Hollow, the Royalton at Roslyn Country Club (currently under construction).
Those were my other top favorites!
Oh, and if the sky is the limit, check out oheka (fairy-tale-like), carltun on the park, and north hills country club. They start at an OHMYGOD price of $150 ahead and up. Wow!
I couldn't imagine spending $200 a head.
Florist that were recommended to me were Flowers by Brian.
I'm listening to a lot of bands, and it truly is personal taste that is the deciding factor.
I plan on going to Kleinfelds, saks, a bridal shop in manhassat, and bridal reflections in massapequa for the dress & girls dresses.
My sisterinlaw used adrienne's and the dresses were horrendous. They fitted them all wrong and we all had to search for a suitable top piece (it was 2 pieces) like the week before! I will not be going there.
I liked the sheer-slightly decorated cap sleeve look but am interested in trying other things. I want something elegant and unusual. :)
We are also having an interfaith marriage so as the time gets closer I want to create passages and vows that are sweet, have slight religious tones, and focus on our love for each other.
I'm stuck on bridesmaids dresses/floral theme. One minute I like a dark salmon, next minute i like a muted beige color. Sometimes I like light cranberry. I'm all confused! I have always liked yellow...but it's October.
I don't know about the whole brown toned theme either. Could use some hints w/ that!
Haven't planned the Engagement party yet! Any suggestions in Nassau county would be helpful!
At WM, we're having the seat covers w/ out the bows. We added the dessert trays and some seafood! The Manor Room is awesome.
I'm VERY INTERESTED in anyone who has had or has been to a wedding there. I want to know if you see the other bride, hear the other brides band, or have to share teh day - or they keep it pretty segregated?
The smaller room is really small, I felt. Anyone sitting near the speakers would be possibly a little too close. The manor room was above our comfortable minimum actually! But I know that guest lists have a habit of growing so I don't think we should have a problem!
I'm opting for band over DJ too!
Hope to hear from you soon!
Charly

That is good to know. I thought maybe it had to be on the contract. I might call and talk to them again, and have them put it on the contract (weather permitting). Thanks.
Erica,
SOrry for the delay. I do have the 'lawn' for a possible cocktail hour location in my contract. It specifically says lawn/library/conservatory for CH. When I went to pick the menu they again wrote on the menu contract that I have the outside option. I didn't need to remind them. I'm not sure I'd want it outside though...it really depends on the weather.
Good luck!

I had 8 people at a table and the most was 12. 14 will fit too but i think it would be kinda tight. The table of 8 looked fine!

Ours ranged from 9-12 people at a table. Maybe one even had 13. Basically it came down to who we could and couldn't separate. My goal was no tables of 14 unless absolutely necessary because I was at a wedding once at Fox Hollow that had 14 people and you could hardly more. I did request that they put the larger board on the tables. So the 10 person table had a 12 person board under it so they would have a touch more room, etc... We filled up the whole room this way and had 11 tables to a side, but so many people at the wedding said it didn't feel like there were 240 people in the room so I was happy to hear that my whole approach to avoiding overcrowding worked!

The library room is too small - so its a good move on your part to take the Manor room even if you don't meet the minimum. I wouldn't put more than 110 people in the library TOPS, even though they say it could fit more. It can NOT fit more people comfortably. I had approx. 130 people and it was uncomfortable on one side of the room.
They do their best to keep brides separate - someone almost had a fit when I went over to see Babybride on our day.
You do, however see other people - I saw Babybride's whole bridal party and a bunch of her guests and guests for the other parties but usually only when I went to the bridal suite or to the bathroom.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I would tend to agree. They try to keep it separate. Our guests who arrived early I am sure saw other people. But we had asked WM to open an area for them to go to and hang out and have drinks and light refreshments. So once they did that I think they were good. During my pictures and beginning of the cocktail hour, I did not see anyone else. But we were on taking pics on the lower ground area so not many people walk around there. As our cocktail hour was ending I was starting to see guests for the next one walk around ours to get to where that one was. Then inside I saw the placecards set up for the other wedding. Which did cause some confusion because ours started by the door that leads out to the cocktail hour, but then moves to by the Manor Room so people can get them on the way in there. But as people were coming back into the place some saw the other cards and started looking at those. Only saw that cause I was taking pics in the library. During my reception I did not see or hear anything. When I left to use the bathroom I saw other guests on line for the bathroom and I only saw the other bride when we walked outside to take night shots. I just walked by her party in the smaller room. That's it.Rebecca - glad no one stopped you from getting to me!

Were they mine? My photographer missed that shot. I guess cause we were so busy taking pics outside and people were arriving early and taking their cards right away.

Sorry, they were someone elses. It was the standard WM placecard. Don't even get me started on my placecards - WM didn't set them up properly so they looked stupid.
Nevermind that I had typewritten instructions with a picture of how they were supposed to look
Hi Juliet!!! Married life is great! Although its pretty much the same as single life for DH and I since we've lived together for 4 years. My birthday present was better than previous years
How's everything going with you?

The good thing about my wedding was my party was the only one that night. We had the run of the whole place!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I'm worried that they are going to put my placecards out bad.
Can you explain how they did it?
I see so many pics of nice ones (rose petals and candles placed on the table)
ewwww I don't want it to look messy...
Maybe my mother could adjust it if it she sees it looking bad....
What are some of the other things that past Westbury Manor brides wish they could change or refine if they could 'do it again'???
---thanks :)
