Hello Ladies,
After reading a ton of the recent posts, I wonder who your BM's are?
I signed with Joaquim in Jan 2005. I haven't been back recently, does any know if he's still there? Thanks!

I haven't dealt with him. When I first went, I dealt with Mel, and when we booked we dealt with Jerry. When we changed the date, Susan handled everything for us. SO I really have no idea who my BM is!!

question for those who've picked out their menus already.. what did you choose for appetizer???

i'm leaning towards the seafood cocktail... does anyone know if that's any good? as you know, WM doesn't do tastings. i might be going there next month for dinner though, but any advance insight would be helpful!

Hi we went with and its not on the menu when you do your menu you will find out things have been added- we got the portabello mushroom over greens- its a huge mushroom over different greens very yummy, we went with this b/c in our CH we had a ton of food and the seafood boat so didnt want more seafood and it saves you a half hour in dance time- you save on pasta time, salad time so we opted to have more dance time and the salad is huge! Good Luck

i was there for dinner recently and had the antipasta appetizer, which was really good. i'd definitely take a look at what you are having in the cocktail hour and try and offer your guests something different during the reception. whatever you choose will be excellent!!

I was told 12 max, but tight...10 comfortably.

Any current brides have better info?....

I was told 12.. I think that's too much.
I would stick with 10 so our guests will be comfy

If I'm not mistaken, they have tables of 10,12, and 14. This doesn't mean that the tables with 14 people will be cramped. The tables come in 3 different sizes so they will fit the guests comforably. However, I would try to use as few tables of 14 as possible since they did seem a bit tighter than the others. Hope this helps!

She's right. All the tables are 10 people ovals. But then they have extenders that they put over the table to make it fit 12 or up to 14. 14 is tight. I went to a wedding at the Fox Hollow that had the same tables and we were a bit cramped. I tried to limit to 12 people max. What I also did was ask for a 12 top for the 10 people tables and a 14 top on the 12 tables so everyone had a little more room. Think I got that advice from someone else on these boards!.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Went to a function at WM sat night- may 14th---

The cocktail hour was outside- wowowowowowow beautiful, I missed having it outside by 2 weeks- all I can say is if you are having a late spring or summer wedding the grounds are absolutely stunning.

The service- outstanding

The party was in the Garden Room- I asked my cousin how many people are in here she said 140 ( the party was for her husband- fireman dinner) the room was really tight for 140 people! there were 10 to a table so the tables werent crowded but b/c there were 14 tables the room was squashed DH and I had to keep going outside in the garden for air, it was also very difficult for the food to be served b/c people were dancing and you CANT move anywhere when the dance floor is filled up- the band had to keep making announcements to please be seated or the dinner couldnt be served. plus I dont know if this happened at my wedding no complaints but they had a bathroom out of order and wow the line to go to the ladies room was all the way by the end of the stairs getting near the coatcheck all the time that some women went into the mens room or went upstairs. with having 1 stall out of order there are only 3 available they keep the big one empty for the brides or handicapped. But that can happen anywhere, broken stalls.
We peeked into the other wedding, if you are using the manor room it looks much better with tall CP's, this bride chose low and the room looked bare, it is such a big room it needs something high to shift the dimension of the room.

We love WM so much we are thinking of having my DH 30th bday there next year. not sure what to do though about the rooms cause we'd prob have like 140 people and I think the manor room is a 175 min- if I remember ( thats where I had mine) and I know for sure and he agreed that room is too small for that number of people. Comfortably we'd say 100-125 would make that room comfy. oh also for drinks because you have to go in and out of the room b/c the bar is in the library made a traffic jam too, and the poor waiters having to go back and forth in a tight squeeze to get drinks is a task too, we sat by the doors in the corner and got the full view of what was going on. and they had a 4 peice band anymore and you are cutting into your dance floor and possible 2 tables that would go in that side of the room.

I hope I dont get anyone upset, I am just giving a guest point of view.
