Are you guys using the menus that Westbuty Manor provides?I think they look really nice!
Other brides are making theirs...are you?

No way!!! I love the way I look and I heard they put
you and your FH name on it.

I originally was going to make my own, but now that they put your names on them, and they look nice and vintage, (and I don't have to pull another DIY out of my A**) I am using theirs too!

:)

I want to look at them, because I am doing a Shakespearean theme and am having Sonnets as table numbers, so I would need the paper and font to be the same.

When we were originally looking, we said we had a guest list of 160 and were told the garden room would be too small, and we should go with the manor room ,which we did.

I have a picture of the menu- they only put the dinner choices on them along with your names.

I made my own menus. I wanted to list out all the food courses so people would know what they were eating. We had quite a few people attending that had food allergies.

Oh and we sat by the windows in the back of the room which is side by side of the bride and grooms sweet heart table and if you are having 2 side by side tables for the cake and gifts where in the world is that gonna go? Being a recent bride of WM I checked every detail out sitting there and looked around as if it was my wedding and how things would set be set up and I just shook my head. Plus there is NO private moments at your sweetheart table like in the manor room- in the manor room there is a nice distance between the tables but not in the garden room. My advice would be go on a sunday afternoon or sat evening- go for dinner and peek in.

This is a pic I took the next day after a wedding...before they removed all tables to clean this is the way the dias, gift and those two tables are set up... It doesn't look that bad, but there is also no one in the room.
I personally am counting on a small wedding because I was told more than 130 would be cramped...not by the WM, but by vendors who have worked weddings there. If you're planning on even being close to 150...totally see if the Manor room is available for that day. I know it may be impossible, but it sounds like a lot of you are worried (as I would be too). girlygrl33 had a GREAT idea about stopping in for dinner some Sat. or Sunday to get a good view of the room. I think I'll do that this month...I'll report back to you too.

Hi, the table to the right of the picture is where I sat and for 150 guests our table was right up against the window/doors and the head of our table was inches away from the gift table. that angle the tables are in the picture are not the angle they were during the party I was at, again to fit in 150 guests- 10 to a table. Oh and it got sooo hot in there, ( the air was on) that when we opened the doors for air- it blew everything around ( evening was a bit breezy) and then cause the air was on and the windows were opened some of the guest at our table complained they were cold and didnt like the breeze right on their back.

We had the card box on a table behind the sweetheart table. Behind me was a small round table where we had the cake and behind DH was a long table for gifts and the card box. We also put the bridal party flowers on there. This is the best pic I have on my computer. Hope it helps.

Hmm. I am not sure. I got married last year and they showed me their menu, but I told them I wanted to make my own and list all the courses and they didn't have a problem. But things could have changed in a year...

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

While looking for that card box pic I found a few more (as I reminsce because my 1 year anniversary is coming up!) Here is what the seafood boat looked like set-up outside and another cocktail hour shot. I'll also include one of the 1,000 pics I took with the peacock. I was obsessed. If I find anymore of the venetian hour outside or others that weren't on my original wedding post I will post them to help you girls out!

PAST BRIDES:

Did you greet guest individually at their tables (I am trying to avoid this so I can enjoy the party) or did you greet them at the CH? Or- did you do like in days past and have them greet YOU at your table?

I think I might do the CH mingle...

We went around while the salads were coming out....most people were seated and DH and I didn't care about salad, so we got it done before dinner

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

what type of decoration does the Westbury Manor provide? I am quite clueless about this stuff, and I wanted to know what I am responsible for besides CP's for the tables, especially for the cocktail hour (it will be outdoors)

TIA

and those peacock pics are awesome!

I know they provide something on the tables for CH. Usually a flower floating in water iin a small bowl on the table. What were you looking for?

that's the thing...I don't know. I am not really that wedding savvy (I haven't been to many like this) but as long as there's something, I am fine.

but I don't have to worry about any of the tables or serving stations then? just the place card table, the gift table....anything else?

Thanks again!!

Don't worry about the serving tables...they take care of that. Just the card table and thats about it.
