Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hey Girls!
I just wanted to check in about my wedding last week and let you know that everything went VERY smoothly there! I will post a full review when I get back down to florida, probably by this weekend.

The one thing I would warn everyone is about your things at the end of the night. One of my sister's bags went 'missing' which had her digital camera in it, and also my bridal slip is missing as well! There were too many people moving stuff at the end of the night, that it was very confusing. Please make sure that ll your stuff goes into ONE car so that you can make sure that you are taking everything home with you.
I am taking some time posting my review because we did have a couple of semi-major problems, (not with WM, but with other things) so I want to make sure I word things right. We did have some issues with our DOC, so I may just post what went wrong and not use her name, because she has a pretty good rep on this board and I would hate to ruin her reputation.

If you have any questions, please FM me! I am so sad this wedding is over, but I would love to help any future brides out there!!!

I can't wait to see what options they give for the cake. I hope they offer a lot of chocolate!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hi Ladies!

Here's a question to previous WM brides and all new ones - do you think that hiring a DOC is a good idea? Some of the WM reviews make it sound like one is not needed, but with several weddings taking place at the same time, it seems to me that a DOC would help with the chaos. Any feedback? I'm torn b/c I don't want to spend the extra money if I don't have to.

Thanks!

I've got one. More than anything...for peace of mind. I've got a lot of personalized items that I want taken care of and put out the way I want it put out. Yeah...I've heard the stories about how wonderful they are at doing it, but I did have a talk with one of the Matre'ds and needless to say...I got SCARED!!! He was way too hyper and didn't listen to a word we said. We actually had Jerry Scotto put it in our contract that this person would NOT be our Matre'd. Plus I don't really want to be bothered with the contract items and finalizing details with all the vendors a week before my wedding. I'll have enough to worry about. Oh and she'll be at my Rehersal running things too. We are not getting married at a church and plan on doing our rehersal at our RD. Plus we do not want to see each other the morning before our wedding...but we will both be there taking pictures...(seperately)...so she and her asst will make sure we are kept apart. Lets see...our DOC is more than 'Day of'....she's there to help out any step of the way. Oh...and we were just told to MOVE out of our apt along with everyone else in the house...4 months before our wedding...so with that said...I have to put wedding planning on hold!!! She's going to take over while I'm in...I need to find another apt mode!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

YES!!!!!!! as much as WM was great it was the DOC that took care of detail detail detail!!! the maitre D has so much to do believe it or not that they cant run around for you like your DOC does to ensure a smooth reception/picture time, etc.. My DOC also helped me prior with menu, vendors, RD- thank god for her!!!!!

Hi...I haven't been on this thread for awhile only because I have been very busy at work.

I hope eveyone is doing well. Now that I have about 4 months left until my wedding, I'm sure I will have more questions.

Anything new happening?

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Question for the Manor room brides.... I am making a bathroom basket for both bathrooms and then FI brought up a good point, Do we share bathrooms with tthe other brides or is the one in the hall our bathroom? If we share bathrooms then other brides guests will be using our baskets. Thanks

I'm not a Manor Room bride, but yes you do share bathrooms with the Garden Room. Also...I was advised not to do bathroom baskets because the bathroom attendent provides them...one place I can save some cash!
