Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

We had 238 people in the Manor Room. I want to say 20-21 tables, but I can't remember. We had mostly 10 to a table and the most was one or two tables of 12 (family memebers that could not be separated!). I was able to move around and great the guests without a problem and so many friends kept asking me how many people I had cause it didn't feel crowded at all and they knew I invited alot of people. But thought maybe alot didn't come cause they said it was great! You will be fine!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

i was at a wedding at WM 2 weeks ago and it was TIGHT with 12 at a table. i'm going to try to do no more than 11. luckily one person at our table didn't attend so we were able to pull a chair away and make it 11 at our table. if that person had come, there would have been no room.

Just a word of advice - if you need to do 12 to a table ask them to put a 14 top on it. It will allow for more room.

thats what we did too- make sure the BM writes down on your table chart sheet ( when finalizing the menu)- ALL LARGE TABLE TOPS- this way if you have 10,11 or 12 they are 14 table tops- PLENTY of room- we had 12 to some and they said they had plenty of room NOT tight at all!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

So what you guys are saying is that if I put 14 people to a table its going to be tight? I have like 3-4 tables with 14 people sitting at it. When I went for my final meeting with them, they gave me the seating paper thing. It has 23 tables on it. Do you know if they could ad another table if I needed it and if so do you think the room will be crowded with the extra table? Thanks!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

They probably would add the extra table. More tables means more centerpieces though if it matters. Extra centerpieces for us would have been about $100 a table, so we tried to keep it lower. If it doesn't matter, then you might want to spread them out. I had 12 at each table and people were sitting on the corners of the oval table. I wish I knew to add the 14 person table top. I never thought of that.
Good luck

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hi Girls!

I know we've discussed this time and time again, but I just thought I'd share this with fellow 'Garden Room' reception girls ...

I went to the WM today just to show off the Garden room to one of my friends. THe room is all set for a wedding tonight. I counted 11 tables in the room total, with 14 at a table.
So that means the room was set up for 154 people.

First of all, let me say, 14 at a table looked PACKED. Next, the table layout was as such - 6 tables on the far side of the room, and 5 on the left side as you walk in. The side with 6 tables looked tight. It literally looked like people would be backing into eachother as they try and get out of their seats.

Not to say its not doable to have this setup, I just wanted to share what I saw first hand today. And, no one was in the room when I was looking at it - so, for it to look 'packed' without any bodies in it, kinda makes me wonder what a good 'max' for that room really is.

The point of my story is this - I think 5 tables on each side with 10-12 people at a table would work best in the Garden Room.

I hope this helps some future WM Garden Room brides. Please don't hesitate to FM me if you have any questions!

Now, I gotta go try and trim down my guest list

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

thanks for this. I just did my guest list yesterday- we are inviting 151 (A list) I am hoping for about 130...I hope that's good enough.

at least I know that in an emergency- 154 people can FIT in the room.

I really need to work on this guest list_ I am a little annoyed that they inflated the numbers!

Having had my wedding in the Garden Room with the exact set up you described, I can tell you that you're absolutely correct!!! The side where they put the 6 tables is very tight - too tight for a bride and groom to walk through, and my gown was A-line so it wasn't even that big.

I knew I should have switched to the manor room...you can even find posts from me on this very thread pondering that question!

Yeah, you should definitely be fine with 130. With 154 on the list, you figure about 20 or so probably won't be able to come. And yes, in an 'emergency' you can definitely fit 154 - it will just be very tight.

Ahh, I can't wait to send my invites out and get some NO's - hahaha how bad am i??!

Awww, don't stress out!!! Everything will be just fine!

I am in the same boat as you - as I am sure many other Garden Room girls are in/have been in too.

First of all, I think you'll be surprised with some people saying they can't attend. Just try and keep your guest list contained from now till when you send the invites out. I'm telling you - I have heard enough stories of brides being surprised with potential guests saying no.

It'll all work out -don't worry. And if not - no big deal - 140 people will fit in the room!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I think what I am going to do is just wait it out. I am wondering that, if we do go above 130, and IF the Manor Room is empty on my night, that they will bump us in there with that many people.

I will just wait and see, but if no one else is occupying the bigger space, maybe that will work.

Thats true, you never know. I just really like the feel of the Garden Room. Very dark and elegant. If only it was just a TAD bigger, it would relieve a lot of brides stressing so much:)
