Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
As far as concerns, the only one that seems to come up alot is the cake. For many year's they had a great pastry chef, but that person left and the last few weddings people have complained about the cake. Two of my cousin's have been married there, one in 2002 and one in 2004. Both were great and everyone loved the food and cake.
I love the property more than anything, the reason we booked is, it was the one place that felt like us, I wanted gardeny and FH wanted water and well as you know it fits both.

I have had very little experience with the so far, other than sending them a check every few months. My only concern about the Swan Club is the cake. There have been some bad pictures.

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I went for a food tasting on Tuesday. The food was delicious! We were told that we can go as often as we like for lunch. The price is not bad either. The rosemary chicken looked and tasted great! I went with my maid of honor and soon to be sister-in-law. They had the salmon and beef. Does anyone know if they give out menus for the wedding? Or do you have to get those on your own?P.S. Pookiesangel-Thanks for the links.

Great idea! I'm having my wedding April 29th and am totally nervous about the cake situation. The ones I've seen posted look like frosted egyptian pyramids... not the look I was going for!

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
Hi,Did anyone book the Glenmar Studio for photos? They offer an amazing rate for the Swan Club, so I snached up my date, but am now anxious that I didn't really get a 'contract'.... more like a piece of paper with a little info on it. Any thoughts? I feel like all the wedding mags really recommend contracts with specifics...

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
There is a thread on Glenmar Studio. Search it and fm people to see if they were given a contract. Personally from what Ive read you should always get everything in contract because they might stiff you and not give you some of the things they verbally committed to. They are the only ones I've been to. The price was great compared to these other money hogging photographers but Im going to keep shopping around. I went to 14 other venues before choosing the Swan Club. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. What room are you getting married in?

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I was pretty happy overall with the swan club. Little things annoyed me. LIKE they didn't tell an older woman who walked with a walker that there was a ramp and she fell UP and DOWN the stairs. The BM took out the contract and showed it to my uncle when he asked for a certain liquor that we ASKED them to have (they assured we would)AND of course my Cake. It tasted good BUT it was NOT what I wanted. I asked for a stacked square cake and I got a pyramid. AND it was so PLAIN!!!!
Thank god my florist added some flowers!

Ladies, I highly recommend an ebay vendor by the name of glassartyst. I got my cake top today, the one you see in my profile picture, and it is so beautiful!!! The price was great and I feel so happy about it. Check it out if your looking for a swan cake top. The picture doesn't do it justice!!!

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I think we should all go to the swan club and demand that they get a new pastry chef if its going to be that bad, lol. I really hope that it's not that bad. That pyramid cake would have looked so plain without the help of the florist. A florist quoted me 150 just to decorate the cake. I figured for that price I could add a bit more money and get another cake, but why should anyone have to go through the hassle. They have to know by now that their cakes suck and make some changes. Let's hope for the best.

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
I know that their baker was out sick and they were getting the cakes from a local bakery on Glen Cove Road but for those of you getting married next year I don't know if he still will be sick. I had the V-hour and all of the pastries came from that bakery everything was A+

Re: ALL Swan Club Brides
Im concerned about two things.1. Is anyone having their ceremony at the Swan Club? I saw in some pictures that they have the chaffing dishes out during the ceremony covered with white linen. It is visible when the bride is walking down the aisle. I just don't like the idea of that being the background for my pictures.
2. My second concern are the chair covers. I got my chair covers through the swan club because I was told that they no longer allow people to rent them from other vendors. I'm afraid that they won't look presentable. I've seen a picture that scares me. Is anyone else getting their chair covers through them? Do you know how it works? Do they allow you to see different styles or do they set how it will look like?
