Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
Hi,I go to the gym every morning at 5:30am. When I arrive, I walk for 10 minutes to wake up and get the blood moving.
Then, I either begin my cardio workout (Tues/Thurs and Sat or Sun) or I do my weight training (Mon/Wed/Fri). Recently I have adapted this workout similar to 'Rocky' in the movie. I punch with weights in my hands (very lite), jump rope, drop and do crunches, 2x a week. The other day I concentrate on my lower body doing many different things.
I dunno, I am gettting great results with this. If you want more details you can FM me or if you think this is horrible tell me :)

I just read in a mag. that if you want to flatten you belly ( that is all I want to do) just doing abdominal excerise is not enough you still have to do high impact aerobics

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
Great idea! I hope to get a lot of ideas from here
I go to the gym 3 days a week (would love to increase that to 4 or 5 for the New Year).
My goal for the New Year is to increase my strength training. Right now, my workout primarily focuses on cardio and I know in order to see results I need to ramp this up.

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
I have stepped it up since my wedding is in less than 4 months... I would like to drop 20 more pds....I go to Spin classes 3-4 x per week and each morning (6x) I do about 30-40 min of cardio and 20 min of strength training alternating upper and lower body.
Good Luck everyone!

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
I sit on my butt and eat all day.I'm going to start going back to the gym four times a week. I think I'll just start out with cardio on the treadmill and elliptical and then add in weights after I drop a few pounds.
Does anyone road bike(Like Lance Armstrong)???? That is seriously the best workout I highly recommend it. I use to do 20 miles a night with my FH and was in a size four without even changing my diet. Unfortunately I started nursing school and didn’t have the time but once spring comes I’m starting up again.
MY FH still rides at least 4 times a week and is so thin.

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
Gym 4x a week. 30 min of elliptical..I alternate each time by doing upper body or lower body. I do at least 4 machines each time. I always stretch-use the inflatable balls to stretch and do abs at every workout.
This is not the most intense workout although 30 min on the elliptical is quite exhausting. I have noticed a difference in my butt, thighs and hips.
I'm eating better and have lost 6 pounds. I've been doing this now for 3 weeks.
I feel like I'm at a 12 step program!

and incorporate a low fat diet - you can have an incredible 6-pack, but if its under a layer of fat, no one will see it!!!

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
I do not even know where to begin!!! My wedding is in about 5 months. Just want to lose 5-10 lbs., but want to tone up ALOT! I think I will start slowly at the gym for the first week or two and try to maintain a lean protein/some complex carbs diet...

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
Hey Everybody. I am getting over a really bad foot injury which seriously hindered my workout schedule. However, my sweet, sweet FH got 16 sessions for a personal trainer for xmas, and I am really excited about getting started.I will probably start my sessions in March because my foot is still not %100, but in the mean time I will be trying to work out on my own.
Hopefully I'll do enough to post here at least 3-5 times a week.
good luck to everyone.

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
Brod,What kind of foot injury was it? You can still do exercises that do not involve your foot so you wouldn't need to wait until March (with your trainer) to start exercising
You can do things on your own to at least get your body accustomed to some kind of muscular activity.Happy new year!

Re: OFFICIAL WORKOUT LOG OF 2006!
My husband and I were doing well before the holidays, going to the gym at least 3x/week, and going out for walks on most other days. The holidays rolled around, and things unraveled, plus I got a cold. But we started the year off relatively right - we went to the gym today, and I am still trying to plan out our meals in advance. I get home late most nights, and my husbands cooking skills are still a work in progess. However, I did make a huge pot of mushroom barley soup (to use for lunches/snacks) and I have plenty of fresh veggies cut up to snack on, as well. Also, got rid of the holiday cookie leftovers.
I subscribe to Shape and Cooking Light magazines, so I am trying to add new exercises and new healty dishes to our routine. I tried a new workout today thats in the January issue of Shape, and I am feeling it in my lower body.
Lets all try to stay motivated and encourage each other for the new year!!!!
Best,
reg
