My Church just totally F$%&'d me over!!!! UPDATED AGAIN! - I'M SCREWED!!!

When FH and I booked the Church, we told them it would be 5pm or 6pm Mass and she said that was fine because no one else would be getting married after us. I have everything set for a 6pm Mass, I just called to confirm our officiant and low and behold she has us down for 5pm and cant change it because there's a rehearsal after us! I'm freaking out because we just had the invitations completed and they all say 6pm!!!! FH is freaking out on me now and screaming that we will have to pay another $500 for the new invites! I just called the woman at the rectory again to see if there's any way they could change the time because the invites are done already! I'm waiting for a call back. I need prayers and hugs girls!

ETA: I spoke to the Church lady this morning and she said that she called the other bride to see if she is willing to move her rehearsal time but made sure she added that it was 'a huge inconvenience for the other bride because she may have OOT guests that will now have to leave earlier to be here'. She can bite me! I'm still waiting to see if it can be done. If not, I'm stuck with either invites with a crappy correction insert or having to spend another $500 on new invites!!!

ETA: Ok, the other bride has no heart! She's not willing to switch!!! I have to stick to 5pm! I'm so angry right now you have no idea! I hope it rains on her wedding day!

Try to find out who is having the rehersal maybe they wouldn't mind changing times! I'm sure they would understand. Don't worry it will all work out!!!

Oh that stinks!! Maybe they can change the rehearsal to 5pm. Those people wouldn't have sent out invites for a rehearsal, I would think thats something that could be changed pretty easily as long as the other bride is understanding to your situation.

If you can't change it, you could just send a note to your guests explaining the situation, you don't have to order new invites.

OMG - I can not believe that!!! I am so sorry!!! But they should definitely be able to accommodate you since the other thing after you is just a rehearsal! I am sure any bride that hears your story will say that they would switch times with you. That is unbelievable that they would really put you through this for that reason. I am so sorry and I hope it works out for you and FH!!!!! Good thing you called!

wait... I totally missed the part that it was a REHEARSAL after you. I thought it was another wedding! They HAVE to change that! Yours is a little more INVOLVED to change... it's your WEDDING! I'm sure the other girl can push hers back or ahead an HOUR with this much notice! If not, the church should wave their 'donation' since you would have to re-do your invitations! I guess we should all confirm EVERY TIME and EVERY DETAIL before the invitations go to print - even the ones that we can't IMAGINE would be wrong! Wow. Good lesson for us... I hope it works out for you!!!!

is there anyway you can ask for them to switch the rehearsal and the mass. just tell them that you were under the impression that it was 6 pm and that you already have your invitations made. is there anyway you could do that?

This is terrible but I wouldnt send out new invites. Just send an update card. That has to be less than 40 bucks.

Omg im so sorry. if anything, you could probibly find out the coupple yourself, and tell them your delema, im sure anyone understanding will switch with NO problem

You should post it on here. Maybe the bride is on liweddings OR somebody knows her???? I'm SURE she will delay the start time!!! Fingers crossed!

I hope it works out, I am so sorry this is happening. Like the others said maybe she is willing to change the rehearsal time- I know I would. I didnt schedule my rehearsal time at the church yet for that reason because there might be other brides getting married.
