I'm glad you're okay with the time change... the thing that bothers me is that you have to spend $500 extra on new invites when it was the church's fault! Did you tell them you have to get new invites now? They should pay for that.

Since there's nothing you can do, try to breathe, have a little humor and think about the day that awaits you. Let the other bride deal with karma. You wish her a beautiful day...

why is it that you always know exactly what to say to make me feel better? it dawned on me that there was nothing i could do and it was a moot point. i have to think proactively now and not reactively. what's important to me right now is making sure the invites go out on schedule and oh yeah, making it to june 23rd!

Oh my gosh... That is sooooooo mean.. the church should just own up to it and MAKE her move. You are paying for your wedding on THAT day... That is redicilous!

Just think with the earlier wedding you'll have more time to take pics in between. You'll have more light and better pics....plus you'll def be able to make it to your CH. Your day will still be gorgeous!!!!!

If I were you I'd have FH get there at 5:15, tell them I'm running a little late, and I would show up at 6 and say there was a problem with the limo. My friend was late to her wedding and it was no big deal she just had to pay an extra $100. The other bride can kiss my A$$!!!!! The priest will still be there because he has the rehersal with the other bride and there is no way he wouldn't do your wedding!

When FH and I booked the Church, we told them it would be 5pm or 6pm Mass and she said that was fine because no one else would be getting married after us. I have everything set for a 6pm Mass, I just called to confirm our officiant and low and behold she has us down for 5pm and cant change it because there's a rehearsal after us! I'm freaking out because we just had the invitations completed and they all say 6pm!!!! FH is freaking out on me now and screaming that we will have to pay another $500 for the new invites! I just called the woman at the rectory again to see if there's any way they could change the time because the invites are done already! I'm waiting for a call back. I need prayers and hugs girls!

ETA: I spoke to the Church lady this morning and she said that she called the other bride to see if she is willing to move her rehearsal time but made sure she added that it was 'a huge inconvenience for the other bride because she may have OOT guests that will now have to leave earlier to be here'. She can bite me! I'm still waiting to see if it can be done. If not, I'm stuck with either invites with a crappy correction insert or having to spend another $500 on new invites!!!

ETA: Ok, the other bride has no heart! She's not willing to switch!!! I have to stick to 5pm! I'm so angry right now you have no idea! I hope it rains on her wedding day!

Piss the Church off and don't give them any money! OR - better yet - call the DIOCESE and complain to them and make them get involved!!

pardon me, but doesn't a wedding supercede a rehearsal? if the church messed up the times, it's up to THEM to fix it. all they need to do is tell the bride, sorry, your time is moved. OR, they can pay for your new invites!

HOLY SH&T THAT IS FLIPPIN CRAZY. ITS YOUR WEDDING DAY, CAN'T THE OTHER BRIDE SWITCH TO 7PM INSTEAD THE REHEARSAL TAKES WHAT ALL OF 1/2 HR.

I WOULD KEEP ON WITH THE CHURCH CALL THE PRIEST AND TELL THEM THIS.. YOU ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY.

PLUS YOU BOOKED WAY B4 HER AND ITS THE PRIESTS ERROR THAT HE BOOKED HER TIME, I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW SELFISH PEOPLE CAN BE.
