I'm so excited that there is a thread now! We're using the both room downstairs for the cocktail hour and then upstairs for the receptions.
its so exciting! I'm just trying to figure out what we want for food, has anyone picked their menu yet?

Yea  I didn't think there were enough of us to start one of these but I am so glad someone did
We have the place to ourselves which is GREAT. First floor is CH and the upstairs is for the main reception. We are also getting married there. The ceremony will be held upstairs. Early May will just be too chilly on the water for an outdoor ceremony.
I love the chairs too.
When picking our your CP's make sure you don't get silver, platinum or any type of light metal it will totally clash with the gold/bronze chairs.

I saw that pic too...and it made me fall in love. One question- what is the pic of....the upstairs or downstairs? Can a wedding be held in that exact room..or just the CH?

YAY!! A VYC THREAD!!! I feel official now, I always see the Jericho Terrace and other OFFICIAL threads, now I can be a part of it!
Yes I LOVE the chairs, I will not cover them. My CH is downstairs and reception is upstairs! WHOO HOO! Can't wait
Great tip about the CP's...I generally prefer SILVER, and probably would have gone with silver, not thinking of the room colors. It is so tastefully done that it is not too much gold!
Bill said about 10 days for pics on the website!
I am going Friday 9/8 for a food tasting, yum yum! Will let you know how it is!

That pic is of the side room downstairs. You can use that room for a ceremony, or your CH if you have under 140 people...otherwise, you can just have it open for the view and use the larger room downstairs along with the one pictured for your CH. Of course you can have your CH upstairs and use downstairs room(s) for your reception. The two rooms downstairs are just separated by a panel (a floor to ceiling panel so it looks like a wall when closed)

So we went and say vyc and we both loved it, the only thing is that since we want to have the ceremony there Sundays are the only days available.

hi everyone!! We are using both downstairs rooms for CH and reception. I am so excited we droped off a payment a couple of weeks ago and it looks so great!!! Def not using chair covers, i like them with out it!!
My only thing is Bill was giving us a hard time about scheduling a food tasting!!

Hey gals, just wanted to let you know the details of our food tasting on Friday!
It was AWESOME! We had the Sea bass, Filet Mignon & a chicken dish...UGH, I can't remember the exact name of it, but it was stuffed with spinach, cheese & sundried tomatoes...I must say it was the most delicious piece of chicken I have ever eaten, not dry and extremely flavorful! (I have the menu at home if you wanted to know) YUM YUM, I am certainly choosing that as one of my entrees for our menu. We also had some apps. Piggy's in blankets, crab cakes, filet wrapped in pastry, scallops wrapped in bacon, chicken on skewers, shrimp wrapped in a wonton sort of pastry & I think one other thing...All were delicious!
We went upstairs to see the room all decorated for the wedding that was there that night, it was beautiful, candles in all the windows, tables set beautifully...he also took us through the downstairs room of their CH. Showed us all the set up, it looked GREAT! The smaller room on the side was also open for people to enjoy the room.
As for the renovations, the place looks GREAT! They have replaced the outside railing, installed a glass in the outside area and they are awaiting a few more chandeliers throughout the place. Bill said that he hopes to have pictures on the website within 15 days or so, just awaiting final approval. I could kill myself for forgetting my camera! UGH
All in all, I am SUPER EXCITED!! I love the place and Bill is such a pleasure to work with! I am so excited and proud to have our reception there!

Yay, an official thread. It looks like there are a lot more of us now. The place just keeps getting more popular.
I'm doing my CH upstairs and reception downstairs. My ceremony will be outside.

I think I'm going to look into getting gold gold ribbbons and tying them to the back of the chairs---I just think the chairs are so pretty that I don't want to cover them entirely!!

Bill told me that it was a possibility that they would schedule another event, but I honestly don't know how they would. My CH won't be over until 9pm on a Friday night. I can't imagine someone wanting to start a party so late.

What hotel is everyone using for OOT guests? Has anyone looked into shuttle options yet? I blocked off rooms at the Huntington Hilton.

Bill said the Melville Marriot & Huntington Hilton were the closest...They are also building something by Republic airport, but I think they are pretty much all the same distances...I don't know if I am going to be able to fill 10 rooms! FH grew up in N. Bablyon and pretty much all of his friends are still around, and if they aren't their parents still live in the houses they grew up in! FH said he didn't want a hotel, but I dont' want to go back to his house! AND I want to party afterwards, where else am I going to find a bar on a SUNDAY! What will I do...

We've got a while to plan, so i think we're going to try to stay at the new hotel. We don't really have that many OOT guests--but everyone still wants to stay at the hotel for the party afterwards and the brunch the next morning

Yes, us VYC Brides seem to be dominating the boards today!
Well when I was there on Friday for my Food tasting, he showed us the CH room. (the larger room downstars, there was PLENTY of seating if you are having it in the large room. There are tables set all around the room for seating, the big tables. And on the other side of the room were the bar is, they had about 8 high cocktail tables for standing, so I would say there is PLENTY of seating, not to mention people will probably stroll out to the balcony (weather permitting)

Hello ladies!!
I am also a VYC bride and will be getting married on the 23rd. My experience with them has been nothing but spectacular. I've been working with Daisy. She is the absolute best. AND I just spoke to her and I will be the only event that day. I am so happy. I will let you all know how it goes. I am a little nervous about the weather. It's getting so chilly and we are having our ceremony on the patio. Let's pray for sunshine!!!

Awww, congrats! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND I WILL PRAY FOR GOOD WEATHER! I am sure in worst case they can do the ceremony in the small room...BUT I HOPE NOT!
