For everyone who is having the reception in the upstairs room...how many people do you expect to come? I like the upstairs room much better, but I'm only going to have about 175 people so I thought that room would look too empty.
We're having approx 250 people. I don't think it will look empty with 175 people, although I think if you are using both rooms downstairs it might seem a little sparse.

We are having the reception downstairs because we liked the acsess to the balcony. We have to cut our list down a bit. Love the pics. Have any of you decided on your CP yet.

I am doing a beach theme so I will just be doing some kind of vase w/ candles and sand and some seashells or something...no flowers to save $$$$!

I'm doing a beach theme too. All of my flowers are in my album. Lots of blue hydrangea.

Let me know if you find a good way of doing them. I tried writing on them with permanent marker and that didn't work, it just bled into the sand dollar. I'm thinking that I'm just going to go with the second option and attach a slip of paper to each sand dollar.
I've found some pretty good prices on them on ebay too.

REALLY! That stinks, the paper attached is nice but I am not sure I would like the look of that so much when they are placed in the box...We HAVE to figure it out, we will try all kinds of inks....
but now that I think about this idea, it could be TONS of work, you have to write really pretty and clearly. Also It will be time consuming to do table changing at the last minute (and you have to have plenty of extra sand dollars for such emergency)
And what if you get last minute people ...that could be a hassle making one for them and/or re-arranging! I guess we can write them all and leave the Table number blank until last minute....

I think it's safe to say that many of us having our wedding's at VYC are beachy girls with beachy themes
I'm not necessarily doing a beach theme but I'm having some beachy ideas that I plan on using.

The sand dollars are very pretty where did you get them from and I am having the RH down stairs so I am going to use dark red roses magic black because there is some red in that room.

We're doing different sized Pillar Candles with our wedding colors in rhinestones on them. We figured it would be really romantic with the view to do the candles! Laurie from LA Blosson is our florist and she had AWESOME ideas!

Yes, they do, I have seen it set up, very nice...I don't think they give you candles for the tables...they just have votives or tea lights along the windows.

It depends, are you having your ceremony there? Also what time of day... I know he can fit 140 in the small room downstairs, so you could have your CH in that room and reception next to it... Then the upstairs room could be free for an event, but they may not have booked it. Like I said, it really depends...Meet with Bill.
I am using probably light blue or a celery green...sticking to my beach theme.
