Re: Any other 10/30 brides?
Wow! That's a lot of monsters!!Making them black and white or sketching them will definitely give them a more elegant feel.
Has your FH come around on it yet?

Re: Any other 10/30 brides?
Can I ask you guys for an opinion on my invitations? (Horrifyingly, I haven't ordered them yet.) We're getting married at the hall, so we don't need a separate reception card--we're just going to do the 'reception immediately following' thing at the bottom of the invite. But since our reception has a theme (masked ball), should we say 'Masked Ball Reception immediately following' or 'Venetian Masked ball...'
Or do we just leave it at 'reception immediately following'?
ETA: BTW, oakslady, I love that you have ringwraiths in your monster pics!

hi gals - to help with the invites we put costumed ball immediately following on the bottom - this way people knew to come in costumei am getting fh to come around on the monster thing - with all the halloween decorations we are using i think it would fit in alot better than say the seven seas - you know?
glad you liked the monsters i will see what else i can dig up - LOL

Re: Any other 10/30 brides?
Don't worry I haven't even picked out our invites yet (yes I know I am behind!
). I think you should write 'Venetian Masked reception to follow' How's that sound?

Do you think everyone will know what that means? It might just be me, but I would probably not know what to do with that information. Maybe you do a reception card with more details as to what is expected of the guests?
You can even do a cheaper insert yourself on nice paper if the invite company is too expensive.
Just a thought.

Re: Any other 10/30 brides?
Ooh, that's a good point. We sent out STDs that said it was a masked ball, and our website has details (like that we'll provide the masks). But let's face it, most of our parents' friends wouldn't know how to find a website if their lives depended on it.We're doing scroll invitations so we can put as much info on the actual invite as we want. Maybe I can put something about the masks with the part that says black tie?

I like that idea. And the scroll invites will go so well with your theme!!

Re: Any other 10/30 brides?
Okay, so I'm trying to put together a list of songs for my band. I would like to have some Halloween music played. All I can come up with is Monster Mash (it is completely stuck in my head!). Help girls!

Well, your band probably won't know lots of these, but:Purple People Eater
Theme songs (X-files, The Munsters, The Addams Family)
I Put a Spell on You
Werewolves of London
October (U2)
Pet Cemetery (Ramones)
Bela Lugosi's Dead (Bauhaus)
Halloween, She Gets Me So Mean (Rob Zombie)
FH just found online that Martha Stewart has a Halloween compilation CD!

Re: Any other 10/30 brides?
I'm having the family members announced to the Addam's Family, the BP announced to the Munster's theme song and FH and I are walking into Thriller. If you do a search on amazon for 'halloween songs' they actually had quite a few.
A couple others I can think of off the top of my head...
Superstitious by Stevie Wonder
Black Cat by Janet Jackson
